i think if both were being really honest they would say:

We were going to run the ball three times to get the first down and if we didn't, we would run clock, punt the ball and play defense.

I also think Gannon really didnt think the Titans were going to move the ball and get a winning FG.

my total speculation
Oh I think you’re right. And they’re stupid.

Yeah...imagine if we had...
Rookie Kyler...
OC Kliff
DC Rallis
HC Gannon

Cardinals history is likely significantly different
That...is pretty solid.
Even Vance Joseph looks like a better DC elsewhere tbf.

I do wish Monti/Gannon just had the vision of "This spread stuff works with Kyler. We just have to run the ball from under center to balance out when the passing game is off"

Petzing was an overcorrection. However, I think it was never truly about Kyler. They wanted the identity first and see if Kyler could make it work.

I think JG saw that INT and figured the only way they are scoring points is if we give it to them (literally)

We really are lucky the Saints player didnt catch the TD in week 1. Just too soft at end of game drives.

With Murray in shotgun the vast majority of the time back then, running from under center would've completely tipped the play.

Under Kingsbury, the Cardinals were 10th in rushing yards (2019), 7th (2020), and 10th (2021) before the wheels fell off (22nd in 2022). (Though many of those yards were from Murray runs!)

I hear you, but its just something that Kliff needed to do. Especially when we were without DHOP and the passing game fell off.

Im ok when Drew gets predictable. He just stays predictable far too long.

However, there are times when you gotta know what kinda game it is and if its going to be an ugly one where you have to grind out yards then thats what you gotta do.

Feel like Drew was too much of an overcorrection.

I was all ready to give an Ok to drew, despite the garbage run plays he drew up and the horrible Oline play, and the 3 targets to Marv, and never chipping Parsons...I was being GENEROUS. Then we ridiculously went for it on 4th down late in our own territory with a tush push from a yard plus out (despite them absolutely stacking the run, no play action, shluld have punted tbh). Drew and JG are literally trying to lose games at this point.

Eh, is the late game conservative approach on him, or on Gannon? I can't say for certain. For a large portion of the game, Petzing was nails. A good QB v a bad QB performance can make the difference in scheme.

Playing a team that gives up 31 points per game creates the illusion of competency.

'Nails' goes to Rallis.

The play calling is never going to be 100% perfect.
the cowboys adjusted and started blitzing out of desperation. It worked but a screen, draw or quick out might have slowed that down.
We also have to clean up the right side of this o-line. We saw it last night and we saw it in the Packers game.
