feel free to corrrect me here...but that fade is supposed to be thrown out of bounds...so if the WR cant drag it in then nobody can.
being behind the WR and low, totally defeats the functional processes of a fade.
unless we are thinking of different plays?
It wasn't a fade it was a back shoulder throw.
A fade is toward the pylon or OB over the shoulder.

Back shoulder is what K1 threw to MHJ.

In a short yardage goal line situation when a WR doesn't get separation (MHJ) a fade seems to be the only option.
Naw I disagree. Run someone along the back end line & run him across the back of the end zone, whether it’s in or out cut across. Watch how many TDs are scored from inside the 5 or 7 yard line from that play. Happens all the time & it’s almost unstoppable, particularly against zone coverage. So many of the good players use that concept.

Thats not a concept in this offense involving MHJ. I have seen it ran with other players but not Marv.

This presupposes that Kyler is not a major problem, too. When no systems work, you begin to question the common denominator.
Kyler was able to make quite a bit of chicken salad in K2s offense, when critics were still questioning the system in the NFL. The issue was it couldn't all be on Kyler to succeed...This new offense of Drew has gone the complete opposite. I think Kyler needs a blend of both styles, tbh.

Disagree. Most back shoulder plays are designed with a vertical element. MHJs route was very much an angle from what I remember. No push vertically.

This feels like deja vu all over again from last year.

The time old debate of petzing vs Kyler is one I hope ends in both of them being replaced if we don’t make playoffs this year.

At least petzing used to field a good oline/run game. Now that we don’t have that even- yikes. I know JG is a big fan- but if we miss out on the playoffs yet again, I think even he will see the writing on the wall and that something needs to change

Crazy one would let a coaching problem fester so long. Offense literally looks exactly like last years but without a run game.

I don’t love it - but realistically who are you going to hire mid season to run your offense? Especially when you are 2-0 and still have playoff aspirations. If we change it up - it won’t be till the off season or this team is knocked out of the playoffs

Unfortunately you are correct.. your hope would be fire Petz and there is someone on the team currently that has a diff scheme to hire as an interim.. then do a search on the offseason

Odunze’s QB sucks, too. Everybody has noted that Nabers’ QB is washed. Still producing.

At a certain point, you have to look in the mirror when it comes to Marvin. He just might be the Trevor Lawrence of WRs.
I wish I knew where the problem was on this issue. Whatever it is obviously P Guy can’t figure it out running the 2 Condom Offense.

That is really the issue. Our big brain OC can’t figure out the problem no matter if you think it is a K1 issue, a MHJ issue, or a scheme issue. The OCs job is to utilize his assets and make them work. So far he hasn’t done that with our highly prized can’t miss WR.
