Source: Bills are signing former Browns WR Elijah Moore to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.
Would much rather have Moore than Zay Jones, who remains the most mystifying signing of the FA period.Source: Bills are signing former Browns WR Elijah Moore to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million.
It's an enigma for sureWould much rather have Moore than Zay Jones, who remains the most mystifying signing of the FA period.
Where I differ is that I don't think the Cardinals should have thrown much more than a serviceable veteran at the RG position. They used a 2024 3rd round pick on RG and that guy needs to play.I don't disagree with the above. My stance is that, with Fro providing good play in the middle, we don't want two players that aren't as good as he is surrounding him. That will leave our C with too much help needed to both sides and weaken our IOL, to Kyler's and the team's detriment. Evan Brown on one side? Fine. Adams on the other? Well, if he hasn't improved significantly--and I do mean significantly--over the offseason, the IOL will struggle. And that doesn't even address lack of depth at the position.
I keep seeing the age argument. What is the problem with that exactly?Biggest issue with Adams is he was a 24 year old rookie. They really need to coach him up because Seattles defensive line destroyed him and dude is not getting much stronger...so the technique needs to improve
I think it’s that his body doesn’t have much more maturing to do, so unless he just never maxed out its capabilities there’s not much physical upside to expect.I keep seeing the age argument. What is the problem with that exactly?
why did they re-sign zae jones so damn earlyI think Ossenfort made a significant error by not securing Moore at WR. One main injury and this group will be extremely week. Next year’s draft is not deep in good & fast WRs either.
due to human physiology the male reaches full physical maturity at approximately 25 years old. its give or take a year but basically after 25 a guy will not get much stronger or faster.I keep seeing the age argument. What is the problem with that exactly?
Let's not get crazy. Petzing worked with Moore in the past, knows who he is. For two straight seasons we've passed on him at an extremely reasonable price. At a time when part-time slot WRs were getting $10 mil a year, Moore got half that.I think Ossenfort made a significant error by not securing Moore at WR. One main injury and this group will be extremely week. Next year’s draft is not deep in good & fast WRs either.
Yeah, but it’s older when you want to build muscle mass. It’s late 20’s because you build from 25 and forwarddue to human physiology the male reaches full physical maturity at approximately 25 years old. its give or take a year but basically after 25 a guy will not get much stronger or faster.
This is why if the production is even close you are better off drafting underclassmen. Because a 21 year old is going to show higher natural gains over the first few years of his career than a 23 year old will....and a 21 year old that produces as well as a 23 year old has a higher probability of becoming an above average player
...you misunderstand. with enough work a man can get stronger at any age.Yeah, but it’s older when you want to build muscle mass. It’s late 20’s because you build from 25 and forward
Jones will likely be better than last year. I wii be surprised if he’s better than Moore. Of Murray’s been throwing to him for a year. Considering Murray’s problem of adjusting to new receivers it might be a “devil you know” thing.why did they re-sign zae jones so damn early
It would be hard to be worse!Jones will likely be better than last year.
im hoping harry's right - im hoping zay's mind and body are right - we signed him early af but the contract is performance based af - he better have something to prove this year or the camera goes on fadeIt would be hard to be worse!
No, he did not.Petzing worked with Moore in the past, knows who he is.
Nah, I could be worse than Zay Jones was last year...easy!It would be hard to be worse!
I think, as we've seen with the NBA, it's an overblown argument. Men continue physically developed into their late 20s. It's not like he's a 32 year old rookie.I think it’s that his body doesn’t have much more maturing to do, so unless he just never maxed out its capabilities there’s not much physical upside to expect.
DJ Chark is interesting -- a big, down the field guy. He did have a 1,000 yard season in 2019 but then its been pretty meh since then --Tyler Boyd, D.J. Chark, Keenan Allen, and Amari Cooper are all dudes out there who could be brought in as training camp approaches if they want to keep playing.
Yeah, but building strength has nothing to do with that 25 age....you misunderstand. with enough work a man can get stronger at any age.
But the purely natural increase in strength stops around 25.
one assumes most guys in the NFL draft have maximized their physical potential in college...but their potential will increase to age 25
This however may not be the case if a kid went to a smaller school with lesser staff and facilities, he may not be maximized...in which case he could show greater increases once he has access to pro trainers and facilities.
riiiight,...and those guys would be OVER 25 .....yes?Yeah, but building strength has nothing to do with that 25 age.
25 years old means that muscles are optimized at that age. You can continue that optimized state for 10-12 years. Most powerlifters peak around 30.
I get the point, but I see it as a 0 issue
Which guys?riiiight,...and those guys would be OVER 25 .....yes?
But we already have 3 of thoseDJ Chark is interesting -- a big, down the field guy. He did have a 1,000 yard season in 2019 but then its been pretty meh since then --
