A handful of fairy tales from the story bag...
It's also expected talent level. Team needs be damned, if he was that good, teams would be trading up to get him.Team needs that's all it is.

First and foremost, I want the Cards to take a dominant player rather than a good one. This is how I see it. I see a good player, and first and foremost, I want the Cardinals to take a good player.
There isn’t one in this draft except for love and we ain’t picking him….First and foremost, I want the Cards to take a dominant player rather than a good one.
No, we probably aren't. IMO there are four: Mendoza, Bailey, Love, and Downs. So, for my money, stick and pick. There isn’t one in this draft except for love and we ain’t picking him….
I don't even know if Love is dominant. There isn’t one in this draft except for love and we ain’t picking him….
Out of Love or any of the OTs, who has more of a chance of being dominant?I don't even know if Love is dominant.
I don't think any of these guys are dominant. No, we probably aren't. IMO there are four: Mendoza, Bailey, Love, and Downs. So, for my money, stick and pick.
Probably Love but the OL might be so bad that the Cardinals create a Thomas Jones 2.0 situation. A back of Love's caliber is available in almost any draft.Out of Love or any of the OTs, who has more of a chance of being dominant?
I was just pointing out teams who pick in the top 10 and why they wouldn't be interested in Mauigoa which was the cited concern.Chop forgot to mention the Chagers. That was a layup smh
IMO, that is a different and more complex argument. All those teams with two good tackles . . . suck? I think you just made the argument why investing in a right tackle makes as much impact as taking a running back or safety.
Sure but generally speaking, a player has to be good before they are dominant. It's more about the skill you are looking to get vs "dominance".First and foremost, I want the Cards to take a dominant player rather than a good one.
I think Bailey is closer to Von Miller than Mauigoa is to Penei Sewell. Sewell was the rare guy you could put on an island right away. He slipped in the draft because he hadn’t played a game in 15 months. He was the best tackle in CFB as a teenager.I mean I like the guy but I'm still in the I want Love because I want someone who's going to make plays.
But I'm pretty resigned to the idea we take Mauigoa or Bailey. Of the 2 I'd take Bailey and I'm a big believer in building the lines but I don't think Mauigoa is as good as Bailey.
The draft is weak is the problem, so at 3 get one of the really good players
Yes but I would argue that Francis has much better character than bailey….and we don’t even know if Bailey is gonna be an every down player….throw in our new offensive minded coach and that could tip the scales in Francis favor….i could see them taking Bain over baileyI think Bailey is closer to Von Miller than Mauigoa is to Penei Sewell. I don’t mind an edge with a temper but he’s got to control it. If he had slightly more bend he’d be the unanimous #2 pick.Yes but I would argue that Francis has much better character than bailey….and we don’t even know if Bailey is gonna be an every down player….throw in our new offensive minded coach and that could tip the scales in Francis favor….i could see them taking Bain over bailey
That’s what I am saying …Bain bends like Gumby and is a lot bigger…and better character ….bailey is my number 2 guy but it’s Francis mauigo…who is the safer pick…at worst we are getting an all pro guard….i will take it over the more riskier Bailey….but will be happy with either oneI don’t mind an edge with a temper but he’s got to control it. If he had slightly more bend he’d be the unanimous #2 pick.
This is honestly a deranged takeFrancis mauigo…who is the safer pick…at worst we are getting an all pro guard
This is not what happened with PJJ.Y’know what? Let’s just draft Francis & Simpson with our first two picks. Decisions that most of this board will hate. Maybe they’ll actually turn out very good/great instead of the opposite happening when we draft a player most of this board loves only for them to turn out disappointing.
Mauigoa was 1st team All American at 20 years old. 2nd team All American at 19.I think Bailey is closer to Von Miller than Mauigoa is to Penei Sewell. If Sewell plays his last season in college he’s a generational prospect IMO. Crazy that Sewell, Parsons and Chase all sat out that year.Mauigoa was 1st team All American at 20 years old. 2nd team All American at 19.
Maybe...lots of things can happen. Sewell missed several games his freshman year which could have happened again. That covid year was wild.If Sewell plays his last season in college he’s a generational prospect IMO. Crazy that Sewell, Parsons and Chase all sat out that year.
