No, we probably aren't. IMO there are four: Mendoza, Bailey, Love, and Downs. So, for my money, stick and pick.
I don't think any of these guys are dominant.

Read @Chopper0080 run down on Mauigoa. He's a very good player, from a very good program. A good OL will make every phase of the offense better, and the Cardinals at least have serviceable RBs, though I'd like one more back with speed.

Safety is a crazy spot to address with all the other needs, and few first round safeties end up being even remotely worth their draft position.

Bailey with Sweat, plus Nolen inside is the makings of a good pass rusher. Draft a DT on day two and if he remotely hits, the pass rush could be alright. Stills is a solid rotational DL with some pass rush chops and maybe the light comes on for Robinson (not counting on it). The edge dept starts to actually look good with Bailey and Sweat starting, rotating in Zaven, Browning, and Ojulari. Maybe you cut one of those three since you also have Burch.

I really like Love and I'm keep going back and forth, but no way do I take Downs.

Out of Love or any of the OTs, who has more of a chance of being dominant?
Probably Love but the OL might be so bad that the Cardinals create a Thomas Jones 2.0 situation. A back of Love's caliber is available in almost any draft.

I do have some concerns about Love's game. I see a lot of Reggie Bush in his game and Bush was a fraction of what he was in college. Love has about 15 pounds on Bush, but they have that skinny leg look.

First and foremost, I want the Cards to take a dominant player rather than a good one.
Sure but generally speaking, a player has to be good before they are dominant. It's more about the skill you are looking to get vs "dominance".

I like David Bailey because I feel his primary strength is rushing the passer and that is what I want my edge to do. I want the potential of an edge who can generate 12+ sacks a season. I think BAiley is the best option for that.

I like Mauigoa because he is technically very sound, young, and can physically compete at the NFL level right away. That is what I am looking for from a top OT. Also, if I am going to be developing a young QB, I would rather have more talent along the offensive line to help that development. I think Mauigoa has the ability to be a top 10 RT in the league.

A similar argument can be made for Love. The biggest issue for Love is that if the line/team sucks, you are wasting a year of a player whose position already comes with a short career window. That said, if I am drafting a RB, I want a guy I can play 70% of snaps, red zone, pass downs, and two minute. Love fits what I am looking for.

I mean I like the guy but I'm still in the I want Love because I want someone who's going to make plays.

But I'm pretty resigned to the idea we take Mauigoa or Bailey. Of the 2 I'd take Bailey and I'm a big believer in building the lines but I don't think Mauigoa is as good as Bailey.

The draft is weak is the problem, so at 3 get one of the really good players
I think Bailey is closer to Von Miller than Mauigoa is to Penei Sewell. Sewell was the rare guy you could put on an island right away. He slipped in the draft because he hadn’t played a game in 15 months. He was the best tackle in CFB as a teenager.

Yes but I would argue that Francis has much better character than bailey….and we don’t even know if Bailey is gonna be an every down player….throw in our new offensive minded coach and that could tip the scales in Francis favor….i could see them taking Bain over bailey

I don’t mind an edge with a temper but he’s got to control it. If he had slightly more bend he’d be the unanimous #2 pick.

That’s what I am saying …Bain bends like Gumby and is a lot bigger…and better character ….bailey is my number 2 guy but it’s Francis mauigo…who is the safer pick…at worst we are getting an all pro guard….i will take it over the more riskier Bailey….but will be happy with either one

Y’know what? Let’s just draft Francis & Simpson with our first two picks. Decisions that most of this board will hate. Maybe they’ll actually turn out very good/great instead of the opposite happening when we draft a player most of this board loves only for them to turn out disappointing.

This is not what happened with PJJ.

Mauigoa was 1st team All American at 20 years old. 2nd team All American at 19.

If Sewell plays his last season in college he’s a generational prospect IMO. Crazy that Sewell, Parsons and Chase all sat out that year.
Maybe...lots of things can happen. Sewell missed several games his freshman year which could have happened again. That covid year was wild.
