He played decent but was not going against Carolina's first team. Played against 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers. Withholding judgement until he plays against the better players.
He also played with 3rd/4th string, so it's not like he had the best supporting cast around him. With that in mind, one could argue he did what a good QB is supposed to do: elevate the others around him.

I mean, talent is relative he was playing with the same level of people protecting him and ball catchers as well… yet he still looked good. I’m more interested in seeing once the defenses get more complex which generally doesn’t happen in preseason. So we probably won’t get to see it this year unless JB gets hurt.

Ok...as it relates to Cardinals...his release and arm angle remind me of Lomax. I overall his game resembles Brady, IMO. I'm not saying he's as polished or will be remotely successful, but that's just how he looks to me.

Your turn.
the way he bobs around in the pocket and scans reminds me of burrows - play action and bootlegs too - everything is super textbook from the off hand placement to the footwork - also the same calm confidence and weird set of eyes

Oh, now that you say Burrow, I see what you mean.

My only issue with the level of talent was thus...

a few of those tighter throws he made...NFL starters would have gotten there faster and a few of those tighter throws would have been picks...at least knock downs but probably picks

I thought he looked good no matter who it was against, 2 TD drives is 2 TD drives. He made quick decisions with the ball & nice throws. That will be even more impressive against 1st teams, it's obvious he's been coached well & has some talent. I think he was projected to the 1st round until he tore the ligament in his elbow if I'm not mistaken.

When you throw the ball to the right guy and is perfectly placed, that’s a good thing right.
The kid played well for and did everything that was asked of him.
If it were certain other qb who was throwing it over the Wr’s head or at his feet or throwing ints, it would be said, “well it’s just preseason.”
