1 – Beck’s poise was easily the most impressive part of his game.

2 – I will use this thought to underline the premise. Every single one on this board is aware that it is a preseason game, that players are not playing together with the best players, and that players are not playing against the best players. We really don’t need to be reminded of that. The main point is that each of them would sell their organs and firstborn child to play well and secure a roster spot. They will give everything they have, and they will do it against other backups and fringe players, so it is sort of a level playing field.

And now I will not bother you with that again. :)

3 – Nobody on this planet could have hoped for a better first game from Beck.

4 – Andrew Billings could be a very good, underrated signing.

5 – By all accounts, Jayden Williams have been a positive surprise in training camp, and I think he carried that with him to this game. Solid all around.

6 – If Jalen Brooks or Reggie Virgil is down as your #4 or even #5 WR, then you know that your unit is impressive.

7 – I would not be shocked if Ojulari did not make the final roster.

8 – Bam Knight as the #3 RB is not bad at all.

9 – Linebacker Austin Keys was the only pleasant surprise on defense (I don’t consider Billings a surprise).

10 – I really liked Oli Udoh’s run blocking. Can’t pass block to save his life, but he can certainly move the guy in front of him.

Keys had some good plays but on the game losing TD un by the QB Keys was at fault it was right there in front of him to make the play but he didn't react fast enough

Agree with most except for LB Keys. He did have a couple solid plays, but man he looked lost in coverage and was very slow to work his way down the line of scrimmage to find RB on that long run they had. Secondary coverage and pass rush also below average most of the night. Really no one getting home with 4 man rush except for early in Q1.

FB, that’s my point. “A couple of solid plays” is more than anyone on the defense not named Billings, and Keys is an undrafted guy on his second team in two years. I think that is impressive.

The only reason the Beej will probably make the roster is because our OLBer room is mostly ass.
That is my exact thinking as well, Stout. He was a second-round pick made by Ossenfort, and there is no one else that deserves to take his place on the roster. Thus, he’s probably in.
