I wonder if Widener or Duplantier make the big league roster next spring. Both are 24 now and are dominating AA hitters and with the inevitable departure of Corbin we will need a replacement. Granted next years starting rotation looks like: Greinke, Bucholtz (if brought back), Ray, Walker (if ready) and Godley, maybe they both start in AAA and get brought up if someone goes down with an injury.

The Diamondbacks have some very impressive teenage position players in their system. Kristian Robinson has the potential to be an elite prospect down the road and Alek Thomas has done nothing but impress so far. Both are 18.

Perdomo and Blaze Alexander are also tearing up rookie ball (Perdomo was just promoted to low-A (also 18 years old).

I could see 2-3 of them passing Pavin Smith over the next year in the system rankings which is good yet also concerning for Smith.

D-backs SS Jasrado Chisholm, Class A Advanced Visalia: 3-for-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 3 R, K -- This was the No. 2 D-backs prospect's fourth straight multi-hit game. He went 9-for-18 (.500) with two homers, seven RBIs and five runs scored over that span to push his line to .349/.393/.639 in 20 games since joining Visalia on July 19. By going deep in back-to-back contests over the weekend, Chisholm now has 21 homers on the season, a clear sign that last season's offensive improvements before he tore his right meniscus were legitimate.
