You don't miss Filibertos until you move out of state and can't have it anymore...
That’s what happened to me with Portillo’s twice because I used to live in Phoenix and Chicago.

Last time I was in the valley I made a bee line straight to Portillo’s for an Italian beef dipped and with sweet and hot peppers. Valley folks are spoiled and don’t even know it. Lol

They are supposed to be building three of those in the Denver area, including one about 20 minutes from me. I can't wait.

I don’t get the attraction to Portillos at all.

It’s not like it’s Johnnie’s or A1 in Chicago. It’s the McDonalds of Italian beef.

My favorite burger places in The Valley

1. Chuckbox
2. Old Fashioned hamburger Works (basically chuckbox West)
3. Tavern (best burger imo but pricey)
4. johnnys Burgers
5. Lucky Boys
6. Luckys
7. Zipps
8. Lenny’s (has gone down hill but still good)
9. Paradise Valley Hamburger
10. The Stand
No Bad Jimmys/La Hamburguesa/Aftermath? Missing 3 top options!

Who would you replace on the list?
Most any of them? Look, I get the Chuck Box nostalgia, and it's a great grilled burger, but any of the three I offered clear.

FWIW, I think Luke's of Chicago is far better than Portillos, but that was a debate in another thread. This thread is dangerous - makes me too hungry!

I’ll try La Hamburger this week. Looks promising. Food trucks are novel but there is a reason they don’t have a physical location.

Bullhead City though I’ll have to wait another 20years when I have a walker and oxygen tank.

Who the frick goes to bullhead city?

Back in the day for me....mid 80's, you went to party on the Colorado river during the holiday weekends and saw some....let's say various levels of nudity...and the food was fantastic.. ;)

Any weekend in the summer you can rent a boat at lake pleasant and see the same.

Boat + Lake = Naked Women
