The Falcons have picked up Bijan Robinson's fifth-year option, keeping the star running back in Atlanta through the 2027 season. Robinson, 24, finished with over 2,000 all-purpose yards in 2025 and has been one the NFL's top backs since entering the league in 2023.
Robinson's option will cost the team roughly $11.3 million against the cap in 2027, but don't be surprised if the team pursues a long-term extension before the former top-10 pick reaches the final year of his contract.
Over the last three seasons, Robinson has rushed for 3,910 yards and 25 touchdowns on 4.9 yards per carry. The dual-threat back also has 261 receptions for 1,738 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
Robinson is a two-time Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro, so it's safe to say the Falcons are happy with their decision to select the former Texas Longhorns standout with the No. 8 overall pick in 2023.
The team let Robinson's former backup, Tyler Allgeier, walk in free agency, signing veteran Brian Robinson Jr. as a replacement. Allgeier landed a two-year, $12.25 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Falcons are going in a new direction under head coach Kevin Stefanski, and it's clear Robinson is going to be a big part of those plans.
