All aboard the Bijan Robinson hype train. Coming off a career-best year for the Atlanta Falcons, Robinson is expected to sign a new contract soon that will make him the highest-paid running back in the NFL. It will be a well-deserved raise.
In 2025 Robinson led the league in yards from scrimmage and yards after catch, and with backup Tyler Allgeier out of the way he should be cleared for takeoff for what could be a historic season for a pro running back.
Nowhere is Robinson's rise more apparent than in the fantasy football community, where he's expected to be this year's consensus No. 1 overall pick. Alex Kay at Bleacher Report has Robinson ranked at the top of his new list of early favorites to earn the honor.
Other contenders on Kay's list to be the top fantasy football pick in 2026 include Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua.
Robinson has a higher ceiling than all of them, though. Last season he ended the year with the fourth-most rushing yards in the NFL, and all three who finished ahead of him are older. James Cook is 26, Jonathan Taylor is 27 and Derrick Henry is somehow 32 and still on top of the heap.
Henry is indisputably a Hall of Famer and the best of his generation, but he's bound to be surpassed at some point. Robinsion just turned 24 years old in January - so we haven't even seen him at his peak yet.

"Robinson already proved he can carry a fantasy squad, finishing as a top-10 scorer in each of the last two seasons—including last year when he put up a career-best 370.8 points.... Considering what Robinson has already accomplished with lesser quarterbacks and coaching staffs, the sky is the limit for the 24-year-old running back. Lock him in as your No. 1 pick, as only an injury can stop him from rampaging through defenses and lifting your team to the playoffs."
