...with the exception of Adrian Wilson got their butts kicked, the snott knocked out of them and their heads handed to them by Every Single 9ers player... Offense, Defense, Special Teams and yes, Coaching... Wilson was the only person representing the Cardinals that can say he actually showed up.
That was a complete and utter A S S WHOOPING. A physical BEATDOWN the likes of which I haven't seen in quite some time.
Goldson, Willis, Brooks and Gore collectively KICKED the living CRAP out of anything wearing red & white.

Wow... Hard to believe this was the same team that beat up the Vikes the week before. Maybe Jared Allen was right when he said yesterday that their loss to the Cards was nothing more than a fluke... Wow... :bang:

No he did not. Crabtree scored the 2nd TD. Not sure what game you were watching ;)

Davis only had 1, count it 1 TD on Wilson and it was a virtual impossible pass to defend... Wilson played a tremendous game all around. He defended Davis well all night long! Had a pick. Had a knocked down pass... You must have dipped into the Jameson's a bit early tonight O. Which, given the way this disaster went down, is totally understandable... ;)

You're right VD had only one TD on AW tonight. None the less, VD still owned AW all night long!
That being said, I don't appreciate the implication that because I'm Irish I'm drunk on Jamesons or drunk at all.
Then again, considering the source, I'm not surprised!

That was a joke O and you know it.... Anyway, Davis didn't come close to "owning" A-Dub tonite... wasn't even close. A-Dub more than handled him tonight. ;)

He had a TD on him, did he not?
Don't give me the "he couldn't possibly defend it?"
How many catches did VD have on AW tonight?
Leading our D with eight tackles isn't exactly something to be proud of.

AW is usually a liability in coverage but I thought he played well tonight. VD didn't have a great game today either...only 3 catches and 1 easy TD.

I completely disagree.

Vernon Davis made some catches but there were great catched and A-Dub was all over him each time.

Yup. Second that. Great game by A-Dub.
Too bad the defense was on the field every quarter but the 3rd.

I'm with O on this one, kinda. Wilson had 2 TDs on him, sort of. On the Gore TD, Wilson was barely blocked and got thrown backwards and turned around. So much so that he literally didn't know that Gore and the ball were 6 inches next to him until the ball crossed the goal line even after all the 2nd effort to get into the end zone. It was embarrassing. Watch it again.

Care to elaborate Shane? With the exceptions of A-Dub and Dockett, care to tell me which players or coached actually showed up last night? I'll grant you that players like Q & Fitz tried really hard, which is more than I can say for the balance of the team. Yet, Q also contributed to the turnover parade...

The 9er defense beat us to a pulp. Sure, Beanie had some good runs. Why shouldn't he? But, when we needed him and others to man-up and make plays, they whiffed and came up short, in startling fashion!

Frank Gore single-handidly ripped apart our defense. And we let a team that was dead-last in 3rd down efficiency, who was led by Alex freaken Smith, convert 50% of their 3rd downs!! Along with 11 penalties, it's very clear to me that we were not at all ready for this game, that the players began to believe that they were capable of beating all teams like they did the Vikes the week before, and that they coaches simply weren't up to task. Exaggeration?? Explain....

VD is having a pro-bowl season. He's gonna get his. There are passes that, when executed perfectly simply can't be defended and that was one of them. A-Dub was in the best position he could've been in without being called for interference. But Smith made the perfect throw... period. Davis = 3 catches for 34 yards... I would say A-Dub did a tremendous job shutting him down!

Yes I'll explain. More than just Wilson showed last night. DD, Wells, Q, Fitz, Campbell all seemed to be playing with good effort. But main beef is you last paragraph in the very first post. When you start insinuating that last week was a fluke with the "maybe Jared Allan was right" comments. We all know how this team can play against good teams. That was no fluke.

Of course I know the Vikes game wasn't a fluke...

As for Campbell, there's a difference between playing hard and stupid, and playing hard and being effective. Just in the first series alone, CC had 2 off-sides penalities... He was part of setting a very negative tone that allowed the 9ers to build early momentum...
I am not at all questioning any players' heart (OK - check that... I think DRC has no heart, but that's an entirely seperate debate). I think our guys really, really want to take this team to the next level. However, emotionally, mentally and then physically, they just can't seem to get there. And last night was a perfect example. We all know who the better and more talented team is. Yet, the inferior team literally beat us up. It was like watching Mike Tyson knocking around an opponent... They PHYSICALLY kicked our butts up and down the field. Willis, Goldson, Brooks, Smith, and on and on all beat us up Shane. They didn't just outscore us. Singletary had that team prepared for war and prepared to punish us. And they did exactly that. The hits that caused Timmy and Beanie to fumble were perfectly executed monster hits, where Goldson gave up his entire body to crush our guys. We never once responded in kind. Not once. They were getting pressure, AGAIN, with 3 and 4 guys! Where we can only get pressure on Smith when we brought the house! Warner was hurried 5 times and sacked 4 times. We only sacked Smith once! And hurried him only 4 times...
Meanwhile, Gore shreaded us up. And I won't even mention the shear STUPIDITY that is associated with commiting 11 f'n penalties in a game of that magnitude! Indescribable really...

Like I said, with the exception of the Punk DRC, I think our entire team does not suffer from a lack of heart. I know they really care. But, there remains a HUGE gap between caring, and knowing how to play to win. Last night, we wanted to win... But, I'm also certain Michael Spinks wanted to beat Mike Tyson, and well... that didn't quite turn out the way Spinks wanted it to did it??

Singletary and his gang issued a good 'ol fashioned A S S Whoopin to us, on National TV.
Let's hope the team can recover, that the injuries to Fitz, Kurt, Dansby, Hayes, Rackers, Ware and lord knows who else, are not too serious... and that we can put together a run in the playoffs.

Dockett came to play...and I thought he might kill someone in the locker room after that game.

Rolle was out of position all night, overpursuing, just bad. AW played high and low. Really good plays followed by really bad plays.

Ugh.

I'm usually all over A-Dub as I just don't think he's had a good year... However, where did he commit "really bad plays" last night?? I'm lost on that one...
