Harry Kane’s remarkable season for Bayern Munich has reignited a debate that seemed almost impossible just a year ago: Could the England captain finally win the Ballon d’Or?

Former Manchester United defender Gary Pallister certainly believes he has a compelling case. Speaking to Newbettingsites.uk, Pallister pointed to Kane’s astonishing goal output and his resurgence on both the club and international stages as reasons why the Bayern Munich striker deserves serious consideration for football’s most prestigious individual award.

“I think Harry Kane’s got a great chance of winning the Ballon d’Or. If you can’t win the Ballon d’Or with 67 goals, then I don’t know what you need to do,” Pallister told Newbettingsites.uk. “It’s weird, isn’t it? You look back at the last major championship and everybody was saying Harry Kane was finished. He didn’t have a really good tournament. I don’t know whether he was carrying an injury or he wasn’t as fit as he’d like to be. But he’s back scoring goals for England, he’s smashing them in at club level in the Champions League and Bundesliga, probably in the form of his life. He is so important to that England team.”

Pallister’s comments highlight just how dramatically the narrative around Kane has changed. Following England’s disappointing performances at the last major international tournament, some critics questioned whether the striker was beginning to decline. Instead, Kane has responded with one of the finest campaigns of his career.

At Bayern Munich, the striker has continued to be the focal point of Vincent Kompany’s attack, combining elite finishing with playmaking ability and leadership. His goal tally has reached extraordinary levels, while his performances in both the Bundesliga and Champions League have reinforced his reputation as one of the world’s most complete forwards.

The challenge for Kane may be that Ballon d’Or voting often extends beyond individual statistics. Team success, major trophies, and performances on the biggest stages can all influence the outcome. Still, if Pallister is correct and Kane finishes the season with 67 goals, it becomes increasingly difficult to argue against his candidacy.

For Bayern Munich supporters, the discussion itself is a testament to Kane’s impact. He is not simply scoring goals — he is putting together a season that could place him among the favorites for football’s highest individual honor.
