The Philadelphia Eagles continue to do extensive homework on this year's tight end class. While defensive reinforcements and offensive line depth remain among the headlined priorities, general manager Howie Roseman and company are also investing time in evaluating offensive chess pieces.

The 2025 Second-Team All-SEC selection met with the Eagles during the NFL Combine. This further signals the organization's interest in adding depth and long-term upside at the position.
Wright built his reputation in an always-rugged SEC. He showcased a blend of size, physicality, and red-zone reliability against top-tier competition. He proved he could hold his own as both a pass catcher and an in-line blocker, a combination that tends to translate well to the next level. It's rare these days that you find new-school tight ends that do both jobs with equal proficiency.
Philadelphia's interest in tight ends shouldn't come as a surprise. The top three players at the position from last year's depth chart are all impending free agents. The Eagles, however, have expressed that Dallas Goedert is someone they'd like to keep.
The Eagles have consistently valued strong depth behind their starters. They've long preferred tight ends who can function in multiple roles. Wright would help them do that. Oh, and if you're interested, the Eagles have also met with star tight ends Oscar Delp (Georgia Bulldogs) and Jack Endries (Texas Longhorns).
