Dwight Howard played alongside LeBron James for two seasons, winning the 2020 NBA championship inside The Bubble. He has a deeper understanding of the 22-time All-Star’s work ethic and on-court tendencies.
Howard shared his take on where James should play next after deciding not to return to the Los Angeles Lakers. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year posted on X that James will win two more rings if he joins the San Antonio Spurs.

However, several fans did not agree with Howard’s prediction. They dropped their thoughts in the comments section.
“He will win. But it will cheapen the legacy of all involved. It’s a storyline vs pride vs money type thing,” a reaction read.
“Nah! He’ll mess their chemistry up. Also, he will instill bad habits around the coach,” one fan said.
“He would win if he went to the Spurs But I doubt they want him. They seem to be building for the long term.
He would be a great fit in Philadelphia,” a user wrote.
“LeBron would bring them down less minutes for players who have been thriving,” posted another.
“He wouldn’t last. Spurs culture is “team” over “I”. He’d pout on the bench because they wouldn’t let it be a “me me me” retirement tour,” a comment read.
“I think he’s toxic to coaching staff and young players. Absolutely not, I don’t want him near the Spurs,” another fan commented.

The Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are the rumored frontrunners in the race to sign James. However, another team has emerged as a potential landing spot.
The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves could enter the picture. They have a young All-Star backcourt of Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball, and the 41-year-old’s potential addition will help them further develop.
