One of the biggest storylines surrounding the Ravens this offseason is the arrival of new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, and new tight end Durham Smythe offered one of the clearest descriptions yet of what Baltimore fans should expect offensively. While appearing on The Lounge with Ryan Mink and Garrett Downing, Smythe repeatedly pointed to Doyle’s intelligence, attention to detail, and versatility.
According to Smythe, Doyle’s system constantly forces defenses to react because almost every concept has a built-in answer.
Smythe described the offense as “multiple,” explaining that Baltimore plans to attack defenses in several ways rather than relying on a single core concept.
Smythe also praised Doyle’s coaching style and preparation habits.
The veteran tight end believes Doyle's coaching background working under names like Sean Payton and Ben Johnson helped accelerate his rise through the league.
It's still early in the offseason process, but Smythe made it sound like Baltimore's offense is going to look flexible, detailed, and heavily built around creating answers for whatever defenses try to take away.
