SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Bears tipped off a three game home stand Thursday night.
First on the agenda is Louisiana Tech.
MoState is in sole possession of fourth place in Conference USA.
And the Bulldogs started the game right behind them in fifth place.
Missouri State has never lost to La Tech.
They’re 2-0 but haven’t played them in 16 years.
And Missouri State taking it inside from the start, Keith Palek working in the lane, it’s 15-9 Bears.
Then MoState heating up from the perimeter, Zaxton King with the three in front of the Bulldogs bench, 18-9 Bears.
Later, it’s Kobi Williams with a deep three from the other side of the floor, 26-14 Bears.
But La Tech would make a run at the end of the half, the Dunking Dogs Kaden Cooper with the flush, and it was 36-34
Bulldogs at the half.
Second half, Michael Osei-Bonsu stepping up, the Bears still down by six after the hoop.
Then Palek working on the block, and off the glass, MoState back in front 61-58.
End of regulation, Bearkats down a bucket, and A.J. Bates scores, we go into overtime tied at 68.
This would go into two overtimes.
End of the second, MoState with a chance to win but Palek’s shot is off the mark, as is Trey Williams shot, and La Tech wins 79-78 in double overtime.
