New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye confirmed his injury status on Tuesday following the 2025 AFC Championship Game.
Maye appeared on WEEI Afternoons on Tuesday and affirmed that he is healthy following speculation that he suffered a shoulder ailment in the Patriots' 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos.
"I'm feeling good. I'm feeling good. We gonna get some extra rest, and really the only thing that's from the game, I think just the build up of throwing for, this is what, almost, including training camp, thirty weeks straight of throwing and four days a week. It can add up. But I've got some extra rest. I'm feeling good, and yeah, ready to go for the Super Bowl," Maye said.
In an attempt to solidify the win, Maye stiff-armed Broncos linebacker Jonah Elliss while heading for the out-of-bounds line on third down with 1:51 to go in the fourth quarter. The first down gain allowed New England to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl.
Pro football doctor David Chao said in the aftermath of New England's win that the AP NFL MVP finalist injured his shoulder on the play. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel later stated that the injury talk was "probably" overblown when speaking with media members on Tuesday.
"No, I wouldn't say anybody hurt anything," Vrabel said, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller.
