New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel clarified his comments made earlier on Tuesday regarding the rumors surrounding quarterback Drake Maye's possible shoulder injury.
David Chao, a pro football doctor on social media, pointed out the possible injury during a play in the AFC Championship Game. When asked about the injury on The Greg Hill Show, Vrabel didn't give a straightforward response, essentially pointing out that nobody on the team is 100 percent at this point in the season.
He was asked about it again when speaking with media members, and he provided a more detailed response regarding the situation.
"Probably," Vrabel said when asked if the speculation had been overblown on social media, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller. "...No, I wouldn't say anybody hurt anything."
It's important to note that Chao also posted that he didn't think the injury was anything significant enough to keep Maye from playing in the Super Bowl. He shared a simple observation from the game that blew up on social media.
The team's first official injury report will give more insight on Maye's health status, but it doesn't seem at all like anything that will keep him off the field for the biggest game of the year.
