Yuck.

Granted I've only really focused on him when he's played Ohio State, but in both those games he was non-existent and constantly on his ass

Not discounting what you guys say. but how do you guys watch a college football game and just pick out one guy and remember specifically how good or bad he was?

So many players on the field and so much going on. Not to mention you guys probably watch like 2 or 3 games on a Saturday I would guess.

I know I couldnt do it. with the exception of a few stars here and there.

I'll be honest unless its a QB or RB or someone who continually makes plays I can't do it.

There are some guys though you can't ignore on the field and those are the guys I tned to focus on. I couldn't really tell you much about Dan Williams but I can tell you a lot about Eric Berry even though they are team mates I just didn't pay much attention to the DL and Berry was so dynamic he couldn't be ignored.

Lee is supposed to be a solid smart player. Why not draft him if he is available in round 2 or 3.Maybe Stout can give some info on Lee since he follows Penn State.

I like this news. Had he not been hurt, we would be slavering to draft Lee with out first pick. That said, it looks like he has healed up from his injuries, but they will remain a concern. Remember that this will be his second season back from injury, so I expect him to be incredibly explosive. This is a guy with the brain to be the QB of the defense. Unlike other injured players, he continued to travel with the team and wore a headset, helping to coach the defense. Finally, he has the field speed to cover. I think he would make a really good WILB for us. If we don't snag a WILB in the 1st and he is somehow available for us in the 2nd, I hope we take him.

Thanks for your input, sounds like a good pick in the 2nd round for us.

I could live with Kyle Wilson 1st and Sean Lee 2nd. That'd be a good start.

I watch a ton of PSU games & I agree with Stout. If he stays healthy, he's a stud. One of the better linebackers to ever come out of linebacker U. Fast, fundamentally solid & extremely intelligent. Without the injuries, he's be a top 15 pick, perhaps even top 10.

Cant say I watched him every play. But both games he played, Ohio State rushed with ease against Penn St. He was totally invisible for the most part. The two plays where he stood out were Beanie running him over and dragging him a couple yards. And the other was a true freshman FB depositing him into the turf on a run play. He made no disruptive plays.

I don't think he's even in the same class as a Poz, Connor, or Bowman. With the first two not having really established themselves as bigtime NFL backers

Did you know that Whisenhunt brings up Greg Toler like every ten minutes? The coaches love the kid and I would be shocked if he is not starting by the end of this year.

Now if you want to do Mt Cody and Lee second I could get on board with that. But I like Washington from TCU better.

I thought injury history would make Sean Lee a 3rd-4th round pick maybe 5th.

I could live with Dan Williams in the first, Daryl Washington in the second and the Spikes or Lee in the 3rd or even 4th.
Or McClain/Weatherspoon and then Cody in the 2nd or Troup in the 3rd or something.

As long as 3 of the first 5 picks are ILB and NT I'd be happy. Maybe OLB as well if they don't sign Porter and the other guy a WR/PR deep threat like Jacoby Ford or a CB/PR like maybe Javier Arenas.

For a long time, I have been very high on A.J. Edds being drafted to play WILB, but I am really starting to warm up to the idea of bringing in Lee. Very bright kid with a ton of talent. Would love to see him in Cardinal red.

In my opinion, he just didn't seem like a player who could be called a difference maker on defense. He didn't seem like a dominate player. I thought Bowmann was a better player and would be a better pro than Lee.

Some players flash, like Navarro Bowman, while others are simply solid. Sean Lee is the solid fundamentally sound type. He may not stand out on a highlight reel, but he is always where he should be, rarely makes a mistake, plays with intelligence, good solid tackler, decent speed, and most of all a leader on defense.

Penn State's defense has been outstanding (among the best in the nation) the last two years. Bowman, Lee, and Hull, their three LB's, have all had big part in that.

I admittedly have biases on defense -

I want my OLB's to be 6-3 235 lb super-athletes (the LT prototype).

My ILB's can be shorter, stouter and less athletic, but they have to love to get their noses dirty and hit like a ton in the inside gaps - & from the front and not the side. (But in a 3- 4, I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of bulk for dropback and pursuit speed).

I want my 3-4 DE's to be faster and more explosive versions of our NT's (& weigh no less than 290).

I want my NT's to weigh 335 and be impossible to move out of their gaps.

I want my corners to have 4.45 or faster speed, not be afraid to hit and aggressive and early-breaking to the ball.

I want my SS's to be Adrian Wilson

I want my FS to have more range and coverage skills than A-Dub, but (while unafraid to hit) can obviously be less of a thumper.

While few players live up to all these ideals, these are the prototypes I'd be looking for, and if a player can't fit a profile (for example, a smaller or less athletic OLB), I think his chances of making it are less likely.

I think I would rather have Thaddeus Gibson in the second round then Sean Lee.

My Top 10 WILB's -

Rolando McClain
Sean Weatherspoon
Donald Butler
Thaddeus Gibson
Sean Lee
AJ Edds
Pat Angerer
Jamar Chaney
Boris Lee

Two projects that will take a few years IMO and I would have only took if we already had a starter at WILB to be a stop gap - Koa Misi and Ricky Sapp.

My top 5 SILB's -

Rolando McClain
Brandon Spikes
Micah Johnson
Philip Dillard
Mike McLaughlin

If we could come out of the draft with any one of my top 6 WILB's and one of my top 3 SILB's I would be very happy.

We got so many holes, that almost any of the first two you can't go wrong with.

Kyle Wilson is allmost an instant starter. Toler at nickle would probably be an upgrade. He's a big cb. I'm not convinced he's a starter. The coaches are optomistic and hopefull at this point. They couldn't have seen enough of him in games yet to have a clear outlook yet. Our secondary still scares the crap out of me! Hopefully Cromartie bounces back ok from his injury. It could have some lingering affects yet.
