The Miami Dolphins announced last week, that they're releasing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after weeks of trying to find a trade partner for the former first-round pick.

However, that move didn't become official until Miami announced on Thursday morning that they've released Tagovailoa with a post-June 1 designation, allowing them to split up the dead cap hit over multiple years.

The 28-year-old spent six seasons with the Dolphins, leading them to a 44-32 record in his 76 starts and completing 68% of his passes for 18,166 yards, 120 touchdowns and 59 interceptions.

Miami has agreed to a deal with former Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans quarterback Malik Willis to take Tagovailoa's place, while Tagovailoa is set to land with the Atlanta Falcons on a minimum contract.
