Do you still have an issue with Whiz?

Are you ok with Whiz being OC too based on seasons results?

Are you saying that details don't get missed on teams where they have both a HC and OC?

Nope, but I think he'd be more likely to catch them.

Also the clock management at the end of the game wasn't a HC issue. It was a Larry Fitzgerald screwing up issue.

Larry did screw up, for sure, and the in-game scoreboard was wrong, showing us with a TO left at that point, so forgive me because I was thinking that we had a TO in our pocket, we didn't. Whis could have done nothing there, other than taking a shot or two at the endzone but that's dangerous with bobbled snaps, etc.

Portland Oregon these days.
If Whiz took to wearing clown shoes and a giant red whistle, I'd believe there must be a subtle, psychological advantage.

8-8, 9-7, 10-6, and four playoff wins in 2 years to date. I have faith in the man.

Why would anyone have issues with the Wiz? Let's see, first year 8-8. Then second year 9-7 super bowl run. And here we are in the playoffs, with 1 win in the file! Oh, yes that last game against the same Packers. I can't even remember it.

Nobody has an issue with Whis. I hope he hires a good OC so he can continue on being the baddest ass HC in the league, only kicked up a notch or 10.

In Wiz I trust end of story.

Even if its not "ideal" as some here have stated, I trust him in that capacity moreso then anyone. He has shown the ability to handle it as that wasn't an only Kurt Warner orchestrated explosion last week against a damn good defense.

And to be honest I think even when we do have hiccups, its more to do with learning on the job how to be a HC in general rather then having too much on his plate. He has already shown he is detail oriented and a hell of a game planner. So the question is would rather have ANYONE else calling the plays. And the short answer is no, i wouldn't.

I'll take the extension bit one step further. I think as part of his extension he should be given say in personnel as well, maybe even the defacto GM, or at least in conjunction with Kiem. Obviously this would leave Graves out but I trust Wiz with regards to personnel decisions as well. Has anyone else seen how much better we are at identifying FA's that fit and our overall drafting since Wiz came?

That isn't a coincidence.

I had an issue with Whis calling the plays and the way the offense started out the season. Since around the bye though the offense execution and playcalling have really improved along with delay penalties and wasted timeouts have been cut down which were my major gripes so at this point I am ok with Whis calling the plays.

I do still prefer to have an OC that can handle those duties but I get that you don't just go hire anyone and give them that responsibility. Hopefully Whis can bring in someone he is comforatble with and can trust to handle those duties.

I've never had an issue with the playcalls like so many on the board. I think Whiz has done a fine job handling both, but I'd rather see the Cardinals find an OC that is a skilled playcaller so Whiz doesn't have to.

(I didn't vote because I didn't see this option ;))

I'm fine with it as long as we're winning.

It's easy to look at the last game and say he's doing a great job, but it's also possible that he's giving too much attention to the offense and that's why the defense is giving up so many points. When we turn the ball over 5 times with 2-3 in our own zone, then the defense getting lit up for 45 makes more sense. When all of the Packers possessions start in their own zone, then it means improvement needs to be made.

The other side of the coin is he's giving both sides equal attention. If that's the case then I say the only reason this has worked so far this year is because we have Kurt Warner.

Yeah, I still have issues with his in game management, but he does a brilliant job of scripting the gameplan out of the gate most weeks and after halftime adjustments have been sound. He has played to the teams strengths and got the ground game going better the second half of the season. Risked to much leaving Q in late against GB and got burned. All and all the winning and not the coaching has won me over to not being such a critic of his. If he has to coach without Warner and a high powered offense and still has a suspect Defense he will come under much derision from many fans. We like winning and he has brought us that so he escapes much of the onslaught for now. I Like how he protects his players and keeps things in house. Think he handled Q right so far. What can you say at this point he has put together winning seasons and has made the Cards champions. My hat is off to him. Hope he is around long enough to see if he is a great coach or just crazy like a fox and kept Warner upright and winging it to get to the playoffs. I will take him all day over the bozo in NE. Of course he does have more Super Bowl rings...guess there is a trade off in everything.

Why does it seem like some people like Joe Bugel more than Whiz?

The bozo in NE had been a coach for 30 years before he won his first ring. Whiz has only been in the profession for 15. Ken'll catch up.
