Y'all crazy. We just got a HOF PG for the next couple years. We're finally going back to the playoffs after a 10 year drought. Time to start winning.

We got the last two years most likely of CP3's career--not the guy who was a HOF pg.

Again. Hope I am wrong. He did play well last year.

This comment would hold more weight if he wasn’t 2nd team all NBA just a couple months ago. He certainly isn’t going to be trending upwards with us, but that doesn’t mean we will see a steep decline in the next couple years either.

With no starting power forward on the roster, it won't matter either way.

Like it or not, today’s NBA is very much a players-run league, and Paul is well-connected and respected by other NBA players in general. Would he tweak his salary to enable the Suns to pay for one of his buddies to play with him? He just might. Who knows what behind-the-scenes maneuvering this could trigger. I say that as never having been a fan of his, but I can tolerate him if the trade ultimately helps the team...

And if we're still without a starting power forward?

I am fairly certain that it is against the CBA for a player to restructure his contract to get less money.

I have posted many times the the Suns DNA is, and has always been . . .

Put on a show at home, don't embarrass yourself on the road and
make an appearance in the playoffs.

Until Robert Sarver came on the scene and it has been . . .
Count my money, be a celebrity and, oh yes, count my money.

Acquiring someone in the twilight of his career is obviously not
building for the future. "Step right up, ladies and gentlemen.
Tell ya what I'm gonna do. We'll put on a show for two years
(if he stays healthy), then, I'll be damned if I know. We'll look
for another gimmick."

And I, as a long time fan, will keep repeating to myself,
"Don't take the Suns seriously. Don't take the Suns seriously."

I can't wait for the Phoenix Mercury season to start. Each
game will be a tribute to Diana Taurasi. Now, there's a
super star! Multi Mercury championship banners to see
at Mercury games, concerts and Suns games, when enough
people decide to wear protective face masks and fight this
pandemic.

On the contrary. If this fast tracks our way to the playoffs over the next couple years than that is absolutely setting us up for the future.

It would be giving our young guys playoff experience as well as opening the doors for other good free agents to join us in the future (more likely to join a playoff team that could contend with them added).

This should also help with the play of both Ayton and Booker as the presence of Paul will make their lives easier. Harden for instance had arguably his 2 best season ever with Paul by his side.

It will be even more of a circus sideshow if/when they sign Carmelo Anthony...

Thank you. Also, maybe we pick up a young PG in the draft for Paul to groom for the future.

Something that hasn't been brought up is that we now have a legit defender in one of the guard spots. Now with Mikel, CP and Ayton, we have 3 good defenders. That's huge and means we won't have to worry as much about Devin Booker's lack of defensive skill.

Under Contract
G: Devin Booker
G: Chris Paul
G/F: Abdel Nader
G/F: Elie Okobo
F: Mikal Bridges
F: Cameron Johnson
C: Deandre Ayton

This is our team right now. I know you can play 7 BUT NBA minimum is 13 players on the team. Got some work to do!

Free Agents
G: Jevon Carter (restricted)
G: Cameron Payne (team option)
F: Dario Saric (restricted)
F/C: Aron Baynes (unrestricted)
F/C: Cheick Diallo (team option)
F/C: Frank Kaminsky (team option)

Plus you have a guy next to you that can bring it on D, it helps your D too!

The trade is finalized per reports. Management is commenting so it's official. They will be a capped team.

And Okobo isn't a legitimate NBA player, so it's really at 6...

well, that kinda sucks. I mean, if you’re going to GO FOR IT, and you have the opportunity to max out your cap space and choose not to it’s kind of a half assed plan.

well, let’s hope they find a PF for the MLE.

I literally can't stand 1Suns constant negative comments in every damn thread

It's the same 5 comments over and over and over on every page

1Sun, you are acting like a troll. You have been banned for a month before

State your opinion once. If someone is talking to you then fine answer.

Yep, half assed is a good way to describe it. If you’re going to trade for a guy like Paul, you go for broke. No doing so is stupid.
