I'm guessing the Cardinals have an understanding with Hopkins agent about the parameters of a new deal.

    Good point.
I think the fact that BOB won a division title and a playoff game gives him a little bit of a leash. Jmo

Think D Hop gets his extension today? Have to imagine they're very close on a new deal.

On former Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins' contractual outlook, desire for new deal, multiple league sources said Cardinals All-Pro wide receiver wants to make $3M to $4M more in annual compensation over current $16.2M APY. He's due base salaries of $12.5M, $13.5M, $13.915M.

No extensions will happen before physicals I would imagine.

Buckner, and several other players who were traded, received new contracts almost immediately. So, I'm guessing they're getting pretty close on a restructure/extension.

OMG, the responses from the Texans Board are utter comedy:

"JUST KILL ME NOW VIRUS. JUST. KILL. ME. NOW"

"DJ looked like he was running with a piano on his back last year."

"How does Baltimore get about the same amount of trade value for Hayden Hurst as we do for DeAndre Hopkins...."

"Texans: We hear you are trading David Johnson, we're interested.
Cardinals: Yeah, we're willing to give him up but you have to take on all of his contract.
Texans: Fine, fine, we'll throw in a late round pick then.
    Cardinals: Oh? Wait, what?
Texans: FINE! Take Hopkins then if that's what you want!
Cardinals: ...What??? You know what? Have our 2nd round pick. Thanks, bye!"

They can make the extension conditional on the physical.

I know. But I don’t think they would finalize anything on contingency.
