TYRONE, Pa. (WTAJ) – In the final moments Monday night, Mason Emigh kissed a buzzer-beater off the glass, completing a double-digit comeback as Tyrone knocked off Central Cambria 58-56 to kickoff the District VI playoffs.

The bucket came moments after Tyrone’s Ben Walk stuffed Brayden Swope on the other end. The senior guard scored 34 points in the game and played a pivotal role in building the Red Devils’ 15-point first half lead. Central Cambria led 34-24 at half-time, and clung to a nine point lead after three.

But key shots, and a 24-point outing by Eli Woomer shrunk the deficit, and with 3-minutes to go, a Braydon Parsons triple put Tyrone up 51-48.

But Central Cambria didn’t go away, in fact, Swope put the Devils up 56-52 with 45-secondes left, before an Emigh bucket inevitably tied the game, setting up the final second dramatics.

With the win, Tyrone advances to the 3A semifinals to play Westmont Hilltop on Thursday in Johnstown.
