They might be the two biggest names to ever suit up for the Ivory Coast, or Cote d'Ivoire.

Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure, two of the best players of their generation, represented the coastal nation from West Africa for a long time.

They don't play for Ivory Coast now, but their legacy remains.

Entering the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ivory Coast is a sleeper team.

They're in a tough group that also includes Germany and Ecuador, as well as minnow Curacao.

But this is a talented bunch, with depth so good that Manchester United forward Amad Diallo doesn't even start.

This is a group that grew up watching Drogba and Toure play.

Drogba and Toure were famous not just for their work with the national team, but because of what they did in England.

The striker Drogba scored some of the biggest goals in the history of Chelsea.

Toure was an absolute tank in the midfield for Manchester City.

Yaya is actually a manager now, in charge of Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia.

Drogba was once considered a favorite to be the president of the Ivory Coast's football association, although that didn't come to pass.

Both are in their 40s and past their playing careers, but they remain all-time greats who come to mind every time Ivory Coast takes the pitch.
