For comparison Porzingis in 2017

25 Games 15.5ppg 6.5rpg 1.5apg 43.5%FG 32.7%3s 78%FT

Russell in 2017

27 Games 15.7ppg 4rpg 5apg 41.4%FG 34.7%3s 74.6%FT

Bringing up Towns is pointless obviously as he is undisputed the best player from the draft but Booker has a strong argument for #2.

That's why he said "he has a strong case". If his defensive metrics were good than it would be a guarantee that he is one of the 2 best from that draft.

His defensive metrics are horrible but the effort is there so I'm not concerned in the long run. He's still just a 20 year old kid trying to figure out the game of basketball. And the fact that he's such a threat while still not really knowing what to do should worry opposing teams. Towns is great but so is Booker, I'd take either of those two over any other player from that draft and IMO they'd hold their own against the top 2 in most draft classes.

Imagine those two on the same team.

I have, several times. I think they'd laugh and hang up but I'd start the conversation by offering them both Miami picks plus Bledsoe, Knight, Warren and Bender and negotiate upwards if they show'd any interest at all. I'd keep our 2017 pick and Booker but anything else would be open for discussion.

I could be talked into giving them the pick as well if we kept some other pieces.

Push come to shove I'd probably give them the pick in place of Bender but I'd really prefer a top 5 pick in this draft and I don't think it would be a high priority for a team that wants to win now (Minnesota).

I was actually asking for the numbers. Even if he was a good defender it doesn't mean he's a better player than Porzingis. I feel like he won't be unleashed until Carmelo is gone.
