On Thursday, the Carolina Panthersreportedly reached a contract extension with third-year wide receiver Jalen Coker. Their agreement will tack on three more seasons to Coker's stay, keeping the 24-year-old in Charlotte through the 2029 campaign.
So, what are some of the finer details of the deal?
Per multiple reports—via Coker's agent, Matt Glose—the new framework adds those three years and $34 million to the existing one-year qualifying offer he received as an exclusive rights free agent this offseason. In all, it's a four-year, $35 million pact that can be worth up to $41 million.
According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, Coker will receive a $7 million signing bonus and $19.5 million in guaranteed money.
As for his new annual average salary, the former undrafted free agent will bring in $8.75 million per year. That number puts him in between Arizona's Marvin Harrison Jr. ($8.84 million) and New Orleans' Jordyn Tyson ($8.12 million)—both of whom were first-round picks from the last two seasons.
