Deposit-Hancock returned to the state softball championship throne with a 4-3 victory over Section 2's Galway in the NYSPHSAA Class C final on Saturday, June 13 at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park in the Town of Dickinson.
The Eagles fell short of the title last year, ending a streak of four straight state championships in Class D, including one won by Deposit before the two districts merged. Deposit has now won 10 titles, including the last four as a combined program.
