Why wouldn't deion clearly place us behind those two teams? Based on a 10 game body of work he is right. You guys may not like him. But just because he doesn't hold us in the category as those two teams doesn't make him an egomaniac or moron. Makes him smart at this point. We beat the vikes In 2 weeks and we can talk.

However, that doesn't mean that we are worthy of being talked about in the same breath as many of the elite teams in the game today.
I wasn't talking about considering them elite, just arguing that they aren't inconsistent right now.

They are winning.. but to call this squad consistent is a huge stretch.
Winning more than twice as much as they're losing leans a lot closer to consistent than inconsistent. If they were 5-5 it would be different.

But this team has been steadily progressing each week and has won 3 in a row with balance on offense and pretty good defense.

We haven't exactly had the toughest schedule the last month.. if you want to equate winning games with consistent play on the field, you may be in for a shock if this same type of play shows up against good football teams.

I think the point is that they dont say this about other playoff teams and it's just as true for most of them. The Steelers lost to the AWEFUL Chiefs yesterday. Do you think the talk on TV all week will be; "I just dont trust the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are inconsistent."?

It applies to the Bengals, Steelers, and all the other elite teams whom have lost to garbage teams over the past few weeks. You cant discount the Cardinals wins just because they haven't played the Colts and Saints every week. There is definitely a double standard on these shows and as far as Deion and Irvin go, they've made it totally clear on many occasions that they flat out dont like the Cardinals. Deion "I'll sell my ticket if they go to the superbowl"

We can play better which is a good thing. We could be more consistant. But the wins the Cardinals are stacking shouldn't be discounted as give-me games. Regardless, the Cardinals thrive on disrespect so perhaps we should all stop discussing it and just send Deion a thank you card.

And this statement is based on what? Warner is under contract through next season. Unless he's hurt, he'll be back.
I don't think he'll be back, either. And I base that judgment on his age. I don't think he wants to take the pounding for another year.

Look at his statements after the boldin injury LAST year. He also took himself out of yesterday's game because he doesn't want permanent injury after foot ball (according to Sando). This, to me, sounds like a guy who is giving it one last go this season and won't return. The extra year on his contract means nothing.

The only other NFL player that ever walked like Kurt Warner walks today is Johnny Unitas. The John Wayne of the NFL world for those of you who were able to see it.He was found on a sandlot playing football almost like Kurt Warner was found.

Kurt Warner WILL play out his contract with the CARDINALS and maybe even tempt fate and play longer if the talent on the team seems to keep growning as it added all of the talent this year also. Its not past the realm of possiblity. The dude loves the game.Thats why he plays and he has Fitzgerald who loves to catch his balls.

Arizona's name will be changed over the next 2-3 years with what Coach Whisenhunt has brought to the Desert, and it is'nt leaving anytime soon.Screw pittsburgh west. Its the new desert football period. The pittsburgh links will soon pass away and we'll find other places to find our players.

Deion has to remember he wanted to give away his SB tickets last season because he could'nt stand to see the CARDINALS who he knows nothing about play in that game against the NFL's #1 pass defense. Why should we be scared of a #1 pass defense when it has'nt seen this TRIO before? We lit up the steelers when we had to last year for 377 yards and it could have been worse.

Its all about the plays called. We've got a running game now that is developing MUCH SOONER than the one we had last season that popped up even less in the playoffs then what we have now thats GROWING!!!!

Who cares about the media? When have they ever been right? NEVER!!! They had the patriots bigtime over the giants. They had the rams 14 point favorites against the Pats after 9-11 and the pats won.The list goes on and on.PLEASE count out coach Whiz.PLEASE.You'll regret it again.

Just for ONE TIDBIT OF A FACT.What happened to the 9 year supposed CURSE of the NFL losing team? Did Whiz break that curse already?I know its not a done deal yet,but its on its way to even being a record year for the ARIZONA CARDINALS.Just wait please.PATIENCE..Just get healthy men.Get healthy while you can during this last 6 games and let the engineer of this machine show why he SHOULD have been made the head coach of the steelers but was'nt.

I just don't want anyone to come pick off our Coach Davis next year as the next hot thing for a head coach of a losing team. He's ours!!!!:D

It's unwatchable and that's exactly why it sucks. Both Irvin and Sanders are pretentious, has beens that think wayyyyy to highly of themselves, living on past glories and actually add NOTHING duri9ng the show...no one cares what they have to say!
I can't watch it, but the other choice is that terrible Keith Olberman who can't say 2 words without some God awful joke while talking up the highlights. Both shows just plain suck.

The real problem with MOST of the so called experts on sports television, is that (for the most part), they are CELEBRITIES first and foremost. They do NOT work at their craft, or on getting better at it. The only thing that they have to draw from by way of expertise, is their memory of what WAS when they were active in the sport. That, then, is what they have to call upon to justify their reasoning. Some are so far removed from what is current, that they are practically useless.

There are a few that do work at their craft, and they are worth watching and listening to, Jamie Dukes, Steve Mariuchi, Phil Simms, and the HOF safety from the Niners and Raiders, (I can't recall his name right now), are some of my favorites, and they seem to stay abreast of what is happening by actually studying what has been occurring.

Some get by on gimicks-----Boomer Berman, with his rambling name-ritual. Dieon with his hip-hop culture speak.

Some get by on appearance mostlly, because they fit the television mold of what a personality should be----Howie Long comes to mind. (He also gets all the commercials because of this).

At any rate, I have long since decided that these programs were concocted to provide entertainment, and not necessarily information for the viewer to be able to rely on. I learned long ago that my own observations and study gives me much better data to rely on than what these 'experts' do.

I love this team.. but be honest, they ARE terribly inconsistent.. if you're a prognosticator for your day job.. how would you like to predict this team? lol

We play to our competition which is not always good unless we are playing the best in the NFL,which is coming real soon. Then we will play up to that level also_Only we can.You can never compare stocks with the NFL.That would take 4 pages to expain why.I'm old and my portfolio means I fully understand why they are so different.

Prognosticator is not a job anyone should have and expect it to last for any length of time. You will always end up a bust picking NFL games. No one can do it successfully.

The CARDINALS have had to cover certain gaping holes in many recent games with missing starting players and lesser players and rookies filling the gaps and trying to win made the games look much different than if we had our full squad playing every game. Its the sign of a good team to show its depth and we have plenty of it THANK THE LORD.We have players that are inactive that could start for other teams right now.No doubt.Every game we do.

So every game is so different to pick apart when you are dealing with the area that we are trying to protect in our weakness as the other team of course is attacking it.Like lil' Adams getting attacked all game by the rams yesterday and he had 10 tackles due to that. Not because he is now a stud tackler.

Each game is unto itself a different chess match to cover your weakspots and still play a full covering defense. If you saw the injury report for just yesterdays NFL.IT was one of the worse days ever for so many teams.Players lost for the season on so many teams. It takes LUCK to finish the season with the right guys to man a team and have the most, best players left to WIN IT ALL.

We almost did it last year. With the help of our team Chiro and Coach Lott we'll get to the end with everyone playing the RED BADGE OF COURAGE award and do our dambdest to WIN IT ALL.No curse here.WE eat curses for breakfast now in the DESERT.New ones die here every week. The old stuff is gone but folks just can't let it go.

Haley and Pendergast are gone.We have the answers to those lost coaches and by playoff time with a semi-healthy team we will be in MIAMI.ROAD WARRIORS "09"."DESERT STORM" approaching.

How long have you known Kurt Warner to run from a hit? He's not got a hit O' meter that says he is full. He's never run from a hit that will make a pass complete and will continue to take them for the CARDINALS.He wants CHAMPIONSHIPS and to leave the CARDINALS a BETTER team than when he first found them and them him. He'd be glad to win the SB this year and next year too. He's not greedy. He just knows he has Fitz and Boldin and Breaston for another year and probably an upgrade on the offensive line will be promised and formations to allow him ,as we will have an improved running game to do what favre is doing and be able to really enjoy his own skills throwing the ball next year as he LOVES DOING.

I can see him trying to even play longer.Thats what I see.It will be between what coach Whiz wants for the CARDINALS and what Kurt Warner thinks he has left in the tank.It will never come down to the hits that Kurt Warner is taking. He's taken them and many more of them for years and never complained about it.He's the last of a dying breed that can take that hit.Like he did yesterday and get back up in the huddle and throw a strike for a td,yet it came up one foot shy and Beanie ran it in.

Warner does'nt need anyone to feel sorry for him.He is another Johnny Unitas playing for the LOVE OF THE GAME.That includes the hits that are 50% of it.:D Matt people will just have to wait till Kurts done.I'm sorry. His time will come when it comes.Glad he's getting such great teaching. Why rush off a guy who can do what Kurt can do? Thats the part I don't get.

Those bad games have NEVER been a part of his playoff history.NEVER.So just accept them and know his history of bouncing back is the greatest in NFL history.Bar none.:)

If that's the case, why did he hold the Cardinals feet to the fire when renegotiating his contract? He's playing for money just like everyone else.

Don't get me wrong, I think Warner is good for this football team. I just don't think he'll be back.

It is of no surprise Sanders is down on the Cardinals.

Flippin' Deion Sanders, and Michael Irvin are dragging that show down. Those two are un-watchable, and I need subtitles in order to understand 50% of what they say.

I am snoring on NFL Gameday, cause it sucks.

Whatever. Keep hatin', it helps with the motivation. I wonder if they will have Adrian Wilson on the show so he can stare down Sanders.

:D

All of these shows have writers sitting off-set thinking up pithy things for guys like Olberman to say. It's nothing but show biz. The producers look at the demographics of what they think their target audience is and adjust accordingly. Somebody made Howie put his tie back on this week. That made me laugh. Pocket square or no pocket square? Last week after the Colts/Pats game somebody literally flipped the switch to turn the waterfall at Rockefeller Center projected behind Tony Dungy back on.

I've got way too many family members that work in the business. The "magic" is gone. :D

That's one of the reasons I love this board. I've got a lot more appreciation for the posters who, while they may be sitting around in their shorts typing away, actually know the game.

Kurt Knew his worth and he knew how to get it sooner than later and DID.Graves needs his feet to the fire.If you dissagree knowing Graves then you tell me a better way to do what he did?

Warner knew before the plane landed and did'nt even stay for dinner. He told Brenda where he wanted to be.He wanted to be paid for his past underpayment and that normally does'nt happen in the NFL,but I think coach Whiz was all behind having his field general back and DID have a say in Kurt getting what he wanted.

Sorry we dissagree but thats the nature of a message board and I know how hard Kurt Warner tried to get into the NFL.I don't think he's playing it for the money at all. He's gonna get paid for his great play and may even get a bonus for sticking around next year and who knows if the team is still together, they may continue the run.Coach Whiz knows a good thing when its happening.

Why would he want to start from scratch with Matt when we've got the guy we always wanted? The future is now and always has been.Sorry some did'nt get thier way. That happens.Kurt knew just how to hold Graves feet to the fire.Plus Graves needs his feet on fire or he does'nt do anything.Period.LMAO

Warner plays for the LOVE OF THE GAME.Read a few of his books. There are about 9 of them out there now.I've got them all.It would give you a greater insight to what makes him tick.

He's not afraid of the hits.Plus he has seven kids at home that can get on your nerves when the season starts to role around again and you love to play as much as he does.No One waited and tried harder to play in the NFL.Why would he rush out before his skills are done? Watching what favre is doing may even make him rethink how much more he plays.Since the CARDINALS are doing everything the right way and he trusts them and coach Whiz for the first time in his NFL career he believes in the people behind him not to screw him and he would want to leave that?

We just disagree and ALL we both want are wins right???:D No matter who gets them. Its gonna make an awesome movie one day also. We're still writing the awesome history.Patience.
