Deion Sanders took on a few media interviews this week, including his first one in Cleveland a year after his son, Shedeur, was a fifth-round pick of the Browns. The timing seems odd for a few reasons. Shedeur is preparing for a training camp battle and Coach Prime is fresh off another island vacation.
Sanders turned out a few sound-bites from the 40-minute interview with The Barbershop podcast hosted by GBush. We now know the Colorado Buffaloes coach wants to meet with new Browns head coach Todd Monken before the season. Not as a father, but as a coach. Also, Sanders was disappointed with the Jacksonville Jaguars for not having a conversation about how to coach Travis Hunter.
But perhaps the most interesting comment from Sanders was saying his son was mistreated and "went through hell" during his rookie season. "When he takes off his shirt, I see the scars on his back that he's been through hell, but he's made it through hell," Deion said in an interview with The Barbershop.
This hit pretty deep for a few who responded to Coach Prime. One of those was FOX Sports Radio host Rob Parker, who went right after Sanders' comments.
"I've got news for Deion," Parker said. "It was hell watching Shedeur." He went on to say, "It's unbelievable where we are. Shedeur had one of the worst rookie seasons as a quarterback in the history of the NFL."

Parker referenced Shedeur's stats from last season: 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Some of the worst marks in the modern era. Deion Sanders watched his son tumble down the draft board and admitted it hurt. This was the first time in his life he couldn't "fix" something for any of his kids.
Coach Prime can't waste much time dwelling on the past as Colorado faces a major season ahead of them. It starts in Deion's old stomping ground of Atlanta with an opening night battle with Georgia Tech. The back end of a home-and-home agreement will be on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET.
