Right?
With all the resources we have funneled into it...our front 7 suxx greasy drippy ass... They hung out secondary out to dry all last season...and even so, when looking at individual play...most of our secondary is pretty good...and VERY young ...we have a lot of hope there’.
.
But that front seven ...damn...rather it's scheme flaws or just poor individual performances....they suck.
We got a couple names but outside of a couple guys the play is just rancid.
Most of those guys should be ashamed to cash their pay check....
There is no honor among sleeze.

You make a good point about the importance of the front seven.

Of course the Front seven is primarily responsible for the critical task of stopping the run.

And, even a fringe top 30 nfl Qb will carve up a good secondary if you give him all day to throw.

It’s why we’re doomed this year, unless Nolan and maybe one or two of the other 1st year or 2nd year guys turn into pro bowl players immediately

i'm so tired of watching the same running play on twitter with the giant gash in the middle but after seeing it 472 times i've realized we can't get to the qb with 4 - and we damn sure can't stop the run with 4

qb pressures may get better with sweat on one side and nolen on the other but that won't help with stopping the run game - especially with other teams going 12 or 13 personnel as well

that's 7 deep on the line going off against our mediocre 4 - runningback hits the line of scrimmage with a full head of steam while our defensive tackles get double teamed (if need be)

me thinks we need to stack the box and trust our secondary cuz if you can't stop the run you're done - for every extra blocking tight end we need to assign an extra linebacker - and that doesn't even count the extra blitzer we need to get to the qb

maybe we are screwed - but i swear we did more with less - so idfk

You know retaining Rallis is baffling to me too. However I trust Mike LaFleur. We got healthy, it was a good defense then it wasn't, I think that's because they quit caring but if the offense lights it up they will play harder just because in my opinion. I expect at least top ten in both offense and defense, more like top 5 offense and just a top ten defense. It wasn't just Beck that was good it was every QB on the team. People have no idea what is about to happen.

while I appreciate the positive outlook.... predicting or expecting top ten from this defense is just asking an awful lot based on what they have shown so far
so far it seems it would be a mighty feat if rallis can get them into the twenties

guess who was the best at stopping the run last year - i'll help - they won the superbowl

the seahawks run a 3-4 too but they don't suck or blitz their asses off - they use their linebackers and safeties to fill gaps

we'll need to do likewise - we need to free the budda - let him play strong safety - we're going to need budda - mack - and i hate to say it but simon

simon struggled last year in identifying the run and making contact with the runningbacks - i'm not worried about mack or budda but simon really needs to perform

we finished 20th in rushing yards allowed last season - we were even worse at stopping the pass but as you know everything is connected - teams typically establish the run then open the playbook

if we free the budda and let mack attack i think we see significant improvement - budda is wasted as a free safety and mack can't stop the run on his own

we can't depend on the 4 upfront to stop the run - we can't get to the qb with just 4 - budda is the only one who thinks and reacts fast enough to make the call - budda is the key to 2026 imo

Drob has been a disappointment but the wr asigned to block him shot was disingenuous. The ball was run to the opposite side and there was little gained on the play.
At least he did show the play where Drob drew the holding call after being chipped by the TE and then beating the OT. The Cards D was able to force a punt 2 plays later.

THIS is a good share from AZJace. Bless him for doing the cut up.

Darius Robinson is exceptionally bad. I bet he got roasted in the film room for getting washed out by a WR

The positive stuff in his draft profile doesn't show up at all. Where is the jarring punch and strong use of hands to shed blockers? His weakness of not having developed a pass rush counter clearly shows. When an Offensive Lineman gets his hands on him it's over.

i think the idea with d-rob and nolen was to have a double edged edge - or two edges to go against the tackle and blocking tight end - but in the end we'll go with an actual defensive tackle because going 4 on the floor is already hard enough

we're asking d-rob to do 2 different things while being a master at neither

but it doesn't matter who we throw in there - teams are exploiting teams who send a mediocre 4 with the addition of extra tight ends - the edges are set up so far out - the 4 defenders end up being so spread out there's a gaping hole right up the middle

5th year senior who really didnt do much as a DT until he moved to DE in his final year

Probably a guy better suited in a 4-3 as a strong side DE, but even there is likley a rotational player

But could also just be another guy drafted late in the first round that doesnt work in the NFL/ is just a guy. Its what happens more often than not.

Darius Robinson is awful wherever you put him at, guys.

0T, 3T, 5T

4-3 DE, 3-4 DT, EDGE.

He’s awful.

He’s extremely slow & stiff wherever you align him at & he’s not strong enough to hold the POA.

If he was a 5th round pick, he would either be benched or cut already.
