Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder's new Superman film, titled Man of Steel.

Snyder stated, "Zod is not only one of Superman's most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don't. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role."

Good choice. I really like what I've seen of Welliver's work.

If I had one concern about Michael Shannon is that even after checking his body of work on IMDB, I don't remember any of his performances.

If I had one concern about Michael Shannon is that even after checking his body of work on IMDB, I don't remember any of his performances.

He was insanely creepy and good on Boardwalk Empire this season. He is also get a ton of buzz for his new movie.

Amy Adams is a good actress but I still dont see her as Lois Lane. We will see. She cant be any worse than Kate Bosworth. That was one of the worst casting choices ever IMO. Rachel Mcadams woulda been a good Lois.


Superman is by far my favorite superhero, ALWAYS has been. My favorite toy when I was very little was a little plastic superman figure. He's so freaking awesome. That last movie was a travesty. Please dont screw this one up!
