Who do you envision hitting 1-2-3 in the DBacks lineup?
The #2 hitter got 751 TPA for the DBacks last year, #3 got 734 and #4 got 721. So we are talking 30 more TPA over the year you're taking away from our best hitter
Goldschmidt had the highest % of TPA with 2 outs and no men vs total TPA on than any other DBack at over 20% (1 out of 5 TPA) yet he only had the 4th most % of TPA with men on base vs total TPA. Obviously his talent wasn't fully utilized in last years lineup at #3.
The ideal lineup should have a high OBP, speed, low power hitting 1st, your best hitter hitting 2nd, an avg hitting bopper hitting 3rd, your second best hitter hitting 4th, and your third best hitting 5th, your best SB threat left hitting 6th, you should hit your pitcher 8th and put your best OBP hitter left 9th. The 7th spot is a default at this point.
