The complete non-conference schedule for the Dayton Flyers includes an exhibition game against Morehead State, plus regular-season home games against Siena and Southeastern Louisiana.
Those were the last matchups that hadn’t been previously reported. UD released the full 2026-27 non-conference schedule on Monday, Aug. 10. Game times will be announced at a later date.
After playing 13 regular-season non-conference games for years, Dayton will play 14 this season. The NCAA is allowing teams to play as many as 32 games in the regular season for the first time instead of 31.
Dayton will play 18 Atlantic 10 Conference games. That schedule will be announced at a later date.
Dayton will play three exhibition games against Division I opponents for the first time after another NCAA rule change. The Flyers will open the season with five straight home games before playing in the Charleston Classic on Nov. 20 and 22.
The game against Morehead State on Oct. 24 at UD Arena will be the last tune-up before the season opener Nov. 2 against the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Dayton last played Morehead State in the regular season in 2005. Morehead State finished 20-13 last season. It has won 20 or more games five times in the last six seasons.
Dayton will play Siena in its third game of the season on Nov. 10 at UD Arena. Dayton and Siena have played once. The Flyers won 87-67 on Jan. 2, 2001, at UD Arena.
Siena finished 23-12 last season in coach Gerry McNamara’s second season. It played in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010.
McNamara left after the season to become the head coach at Syracuse. Siena’s new head coach is Nevada Smith, who spent the last six seasons on Shaka Smart’s staffs at Texas and Marquette. Dayton played against Marquette the last two seasons.
Dayton will play Southeastern Louisiana for the second time. The Flyers won the first matchup 80-74 on Dec. 3, 2022, at UD Arena.
Southeastern Louisiana, which plays in the Southland Conference, finished 9-22 last season. Its coach, David Kiefer, is 95-123 in seven seasons.
