Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 10-year-old brother, Aashirwad, hits a century in local match
While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to take the international cricket world by storm in Sri Lanka, his 10-year-old brother Ashirvad has now stepped into the spotlight with a sparkling century of his own.
Playing for Cricket Academy Tajpur in a local practice match in Samastipur, Ashirvad put together an innings of 103 runs off just 87 deliveries. He struck 20 fours and one six in a knock with a strike rate of 118.39.
His contribution powered Cricket Academy Tajpur to a total of 234 for 4 in 29.5 overs, with Shivam Raj chipping in with 52.

In IPL 2026, Vaibhav claimed the Orange Cap with 776 runs, was named Most Valuable Player, Emerging Player of the Year and Super Striker, hit the most sixes (76) in the tournament and broke Chris Gayle's long-standing record.
He has since earned a place in India's T20I squad for the tours of Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games squad, becoming the youngest player ever to receive that honour at just 15 years and 71 days.

The Bigger Picture: The Sooryavanshis are not a one-off
It would be foolish to dismiss Aashirwad's century as a feel-good footnote to his brother's story. A 10-year-old scoring a century in any format of the game, at any level, with the composure and strike rate Ashirvad showed, is praiseworthy.
The Sooryavanshi family is not producing cricketers by accident, but there is clearly a culture, a work ethic and an environment around these children that is building something real.
If Ashirvad receives the right coaching and is allowed to develop without the weight of expectation crushing him early, Indian cricket may be looking at a second Sooryavanshi in the national setup within a decade.
