Creswell baseball player Jaxon Pelham is the winner of the Active Chiropractic high school boys Athlete of the Week, as voted by Register-Guard readers.

A junior, Pelham threw a five-inning no-hitter, struck out 12 and walked just two May 29 to lead the Bulldogs to a 12-0 win over Burns in the Class 3A quarterfinals.
Pelham received 56.26% of the reader poll votes. Lowell track and field athlete Jax Norcutt was second (42.16%).

Elmira sophomore Trayvn DuMont took second place in the 400 with a time of 51.11 seconds May 29 at the OSAA Class 3A state championships.
Crow senior Cayden Hernandez won the discus title with a mark of 157 feet, 10 inches May 29 at the OSAA Class 1A state championships.
Junction City senior Kaleb Moore won the shot put title with a mark of 59-10 1/2 May 29 at the Class 4A state championships.
Moore is just the 11th high school boy in state history to win three or more shot put titles. He also took second in the discus (171-0).
Lowell junior Jax Norcutt won the triple jump title with a personal-best mark of 43-4 1/2 May 29 at the OSAA Class 2A state championships.
Norcutt also placed third in the long jump (21-1/2).
Marist Catholic junior Corbin Sage placed second in the 3,000 in a personal-best 8:40.41 May 29 at the OSAA Class 4A state championships.
Sheldon senior Malachi Schoenherr won the 3,000 state title in 8:21.07 May 29 at the OSAA Class 6A state championships.
Churchill senior Yuepeng (Ethan) Vang took second place in the discus with a throw of 167-9 May 29 at the OSAA Class 5A state championships.
Central Linn senior Don Ware placed second in the 400 with a personal-best time of 50.47 May 29 at the OSAA Class 2A state championships.
Ware also took sixth in the 200 (23.28).
Thurston sophomore outfielder Levi Woodman went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double and two RBIs May 26 to help the Colts to a 4-2 win in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
