North Eugene baseball player Michael Buschelman is the winner of the Active Chiropractic high school boys Athlete of the Week, as voted by Register-Guard readers.
A senior right-hander, Buschelman threw a six-inning perfect game and struck out 12 batters to lead the Highlanders to a 10-0 win over Springfield.
Buschelman received 40.37% of the reader poll votes. Elmira baseball player Asher Varozza was second (29.83%).
Here are the other nominees.
Sheldon senior Cooper Beban shot a 73 (+1) to place second at the Class 6A Special District 3 regional tournament May 11 at Eagle Point Golf Club. In the process, Beban helped the Irish claim the team title with a 23-stroke victory over runner-up South Medford.
Pleasant Hill freshman Wyatt Blake threw six shutout innings and allowed just five hits May 15 to help the Billies to a 6-0 win over Sisters.
At the plate, Blake went 1 for 2 with two RBIs.
Willamette senior outfielder Brodie Butler went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs May 15 to help the Wolverines to a 15-1 win over Grants Pass.
In the first game of a doubleheader earlier that day, Butler went 1 for 3 with a homer and threw four innings on the mound in a 7-3 win.
Thurston sophomore outfielder Brody Corgain went 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple and two RBIs May 14 to help the Colts to a 5-3 win over Century.
Marist Catholic sophomore Rowan Caesar launched a personal-best shot put throw of 50 feet, 5 1/2 inches to win the May 15 Wally Ciochetti Invitational.
Caesar's mark is the ninth-best in the state this season among Class 4A boys.
South Eugene sophomore Henry Harner produced a massive personal-best shot put throw of 53-10 3/4 May 9 to win the 76th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational.
Harner's throw is the sixth-best in the state this season among Class 6A boys. It also eclipsed his previous best mark by nearly three feet.
Churchill senior Nicholas Miller ran a personal-best 110 hurdle time of 14.43 seconds May 9 to win the 76th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational.
Miller's time is the second-fastest in the state this season, regardless of classification.
Creswell senior Connor Nguyen ran a personal-best 200 time of 23.02 May 13 to win a Class 3A Special District 1 meet.
Nguyen's time is the ninth-fastest in the state this season among Class 3A boys.
Creswell junior Jaxon Pelham went 3 for 3 with two triples and five RBIs May 15 to lead the Bulldogs to a 12-0 win over Elmira. In the process, the Bulldogs secured the Mountain Valley Conference title.

Junction City junior outfielder Landon Van Hecke went 2 for 5 with a double and five RBIs May 15 to help the Tigers to a 16-4 win over North Bend.
Elmira sophomore catcher Asher Varozza went 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs May 15 to lead the Falcons to a 13-6 win over Creswell.
Willamette senior Hunter Vaughn clocked a 100 personal-best of 10.65 seconds May 9 to win the 76th Annual Grants Pass Rotary Invitational.
Vaughn's time is the eighth-fastest in the state this season, regardless of classification.
Central Linn senior Don Ware ran a season-best 400 time of 51.29 May 9 to place third at the Stayton Invitational.
Ware's time is the fastest in the state this season among Class 2A boys.
