I highly doubt it was only his “foot.” He may very well be getting “foot surgery,” but I can guarantee way more than a foot is at stake here.

It took nearly 4 weeks before the surgeon repaired my ACL, because the swelling was ridiculous (waited for it to subside). Maybe they’re doing foot SX to repair something in the foot 1st.

While the truck is waiting on a motor swap, may as well change the oil, brakes, and flush the trans.
