Who's the best team in the NFC East today?

The Philadelphia Eagles, Monday, traded their disgruntled wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots. Brown was the Eagles' top wideout after they acquired him in a trade with the Tennessee Titans in 2022.

Emmanuel Forbes certainly learned how difficult it can be to cover Brown man-to-man. Yet, in fairness to the former Washington Commanders cornerback, Forbes, since entering the NFL in 2019, A.J. Brown is fourth in the NFL in both receiving yards (8,029) and touchdown catches (56). So Brown gave not only Emmanuel Forbes trouble, but just about anyone who attempted to play Brown in a man-to-man scheme.

The Eagles' personalities are very difficult to figure out lately. There has been this friction between Brown and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts and A.J. Brown were/are certainly not the best of friends, with Brown publicly bringing up how frustrated he was with the Eagles' offense in 2024. So frustrated was Brown that he thought it a great idea to hide a book on the sidelines. Sure enough, while Brown was not on the field, he pulled out the book and began reading, or so he wanted you to believe.

What can't be argued is that Brown has the two highest single-season receiving yards totals in Eagles’ history — 1,496 in 2022 and 1,456 in 2023.

In return for Brown going to New England, the Eagles are receiving a 2028 first-round draft selection and a 2027 fifth-round draft selection from the Patriots. The Eagles, having to wait until 2028 to obtain that first-round selection, will they be picked soon to finish second to the Cowboys in the NFC East?

But there's no question the Commanders' defense is glad to be seeing Brown no longer with the Eagles.
