New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown is expected to move the needle for the team in 2026 in grand fashion.
According to Fox Sports’ Ben Arthur in his ranking of the 15 players on new teams that will potentially have the biggest impact on their respective franchises next season, Brown ranks No. 4 overall for the way in which he will lead the Patriots’ receiving corps.
”Beyond giving the Patriots a true No. 1 wide receiver, Brown — acquired from the Eagles for a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick — is a star who’s shown he’s capable of rising to the occasion in big moments,” Arthur wrote. “The Pats didn’t have a pass-catcher reach 80 receiving yards in any of their four playoff games. Stefon Diggs, who was their leading receiver during the regular season, didn’t have a postseason appearance with more than 40 yards.”
Brown is not only a Super Bowl winner from the 2024 season, but he also has a track record of producing big-time performances. While he did not have a big game in the Philadelphia Eagles’ lone playoff game last season, the Mississippi native did record at least 100 receiving yards in five regular season games in 2025.
He had another two with 80 or more yards, and in playoff situations, went for 96 receiving yards in the previous postseason in 2024, when the Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders 55-23 in the NFC Championship Game.
Things are looking up for the Patriots for next season, as Brown’s explosiveness and ability to make plays as a downfield threat prime him to deliver big performances in the postseason next year, if New England advances that far, which they appear poised to do.
