I just read an article in Sports Weekly and they said that each year at the combine a question is posed to every player invited and that question is this:

Who is the best player you have ever played against and why?

According to the article, Willis McGahee was almost a unanimous choice amongst players who had Miami on their schedule. The players mentioned that McGahee was far and away the fastest guy they have ever played against, described as nothing short of a physical freak with great, quick explosive power and speed. I remember the run against Pittsburgh when Miami was playing like crap and they had something like 58 total yards of offense with about 2 minutes left in the half, got the ball at their own 28 and looked to be ready to run out the clock and head in for the halftime. They handed off to McGahee on a simple dive into the interior of the defense with the hope of getting enough yards to get a first down and avoid giving the ball back to Pitt. McGahee looks like he is bottled up, bounces off a guy and then just explodes into the clear and takes it 68 yards for the touchdown. It was the most awesome display of explosive power and speed I have seen in a big back since Bo's 91 yarder against the Seahawks on Monday night football. McGahee outran a corner on Pitt who had a great angle on him. He ended up a good 15 yards ahead of anyone when he crossed the goal line.

I sure hope he gets back to 100%. He sounds like a really great kid as well. 5 months ago I was pounding this board with pro McGahee threads and part of me hopes like heck that he is still there when we pick at #37.

Absolutely. Pound for pound he was the best player in college football last year. I would love to see him at 37.
235 pounds, 4.35 speed, vision, hands, patience, the ability to put his head down and dish it out. He's an absolute stud and definately worth a second round pick.

We have the #1 overall pick in our keeper fantasy league this year and we are seriously thinking about taking McGahee #1 overall even though he may sit out the 2003 season.

A lot to think about between now and Spetember, but....I think he's gonna be awesome as a pro.

dood if he is there at 37 that is a LOCK IMO...

I would feel bad for Shipp, but that guy is a freak!

I doubt he would be there but, he would get a year to sit and heal up, and learn behind Emmitt, wow would that be great!

Now if we could draft Leftwich in the first, how would our future look...? :D

If we draft McGahee, and I was Shipp (notice the double fantasy in this post) I would be pissed. I just signed a nice new contract and what does my employer do? Bring in an aging runninback to take over my job and then brings in a gimpy runner with super skills that will take over for the aging runningback in a few years.

With that said, there is no way McGahee slips to us.....no way

We will take Chris Simms! Oh yeah!

If McGahee's knee checked out, I'd trade Shipp. He's got value. Or just keep him. His contract is pretty friendly for what he's worth.

I definately wouldn't be worried about hurting the guy's feelings.

How many knee surgeries for McGahee now? Two.No way i use a pick on this guy.One reconstructive major knee surgery too many.Plus it is not a area of need for the team and Shipp is signed long term anyway.

TJ weighs what 208 soaking wet? McGahee is 235 with better speed, and actually HITS the hole instead of dancing around it.

Like everyone has said, if it werent for his knee injury, he would be a top 3-5 draft pick overall.

You cannot deny his ability and I hate Miami!

TJ is not no 208 pounds maybe out of college but he was easily over 220 last year. Plus that was still exactly how many described TJ coming out of college he was a monster nobody could deny his ability then either!

Plus I dont need to deny his ability the guy has physically damaged both knees at only 20 thats a problem!

Jones hit the hole in college.

You guys are getting a little too excited over a guy with TWO major knee injuries, below average intelligence, and who might not play this year.
