By signing Malik Willis to a $67.5 million contract, with $45 million guaranteed, the Miami Dolphins have clearly signaled that the new regime intends for him to be the undisputed starter for the 2026-2027 NFL season. Replacing Tua Tagovailoa with Willis marks a major transition that will undoubtedly require a significant shift in the team’s offensive identity.
With that, this evening’s Phinsider Question Of The Day (because I know secretly that you were all just dying for another Malik Willis post):
With the new regime bringing in Malik Willis to lead the Dolphins offense, do you hope to see the coaching staff attempt to transition him into more of a traditional pocket passer with above-average scamble ability, or would you prefer that they stick to what he has been good to great at up until now and build an offensive identity centered around the option-heavy run-first style?
