Great post... I think we would meet in the middle. Warner let Whiz know what plays suited him the best so I would bet Peyton would get the same courtesy. There will be at least 20 teams that would be foolish not to make a courtesy call to check on his health and price range.
Of them, maybe half get past that point.
Of that half, probably another half get into a serious bidding war.
A question is this: How unlikely is it that if AZ becomes a serious bidder would it be that CC gets anything but a franchise tag this year? Not so great, which would be a bit of a shame.
Another question: If AZ signs him, are we assuming that the offense learns how Peyton plays, that Manning learns the Cardinal offense, or that there's a meeting in the middle?
Is Joe back? I'd like to know what the projected difference between a deal this year and next will be.
I think it is clear that if he is a free agent...... and he is healthy..... We would be a top contender. Probably top 3 at the least.
It will all come down to money IMO.
