Sioux Falls Washington's Cole Reilly and Harrisburg's Brianna Reilly, both track athletes, were voted by readers as the Argus Leader's Athletes of the Week from May 4 to 9.
Cole Reilly won the boys Athlete of the Week with 48.07% of the vote, just edging out Sioux Falls Jefferson's Brody Jacobson (46.33%).
Cole Reilly won a pair of events at the Sioux Falls Metro Conference meet, topping the competition in both the 800-meter and 1,600-meter races. He edged out the last Argus Leader Athlete of the Week, Mikah Peters, in the 800-meter race by 0.61 seconds, finishing in 1:55.17. He then won the 1,600-meter race by three seconds with a time of 4:14.92.
Brianna Reilly won the girls Athlete of the Week with 53.04% of the vote.
Brianna Reilly had yet another standout performance at the Sioux Falls Metro Conference meet, winning both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races. She won the 1,600-meter race by over 10 seconds, finishing in 4:52.16. The 3,200-meter race was even more lopsided, finishing in 10:53.34 to win by over a minute.
