Clemsonfootball’s 2027 recruiting class could receive another important update later this week.
One of the top defensive prospects still on the board for the Tigers is four-star linebacker Sean Fox, who is preparing to announce where he will play his college football. The Indiana standout has trimmed his recruitment to Clemson, Georgia and Kentucky, with a decision set for June 25.
Fox plays at Warren Central in Indianapolis and has seen his recruitment take off over the last year. After spending time on official visits with each of his finalists, he is now ready to make his choice. The talented linebacker is viewed as one of the top players in his state, checking in as Indiana’s No. 2 prospect in the 2027 cycle according to 247Sports.
Linebacker has already been a productive position for Clemson in the class. The Tigers currently hold commitments from four-star Bryce Kish as well as three-star prospects Max Brown and RJ Hudson. Adding Fox would give Clemson another highly regarded defender and further strengthen an already impressive group.
At the moment, however, Clemson appears to be facing an uphill battle. Recruiting projections from both 247Sports and On3 currently favor Kentucky to land Fox. Those predictions are far from final, but they suggest the Wildcats have momentum entering the final days before his announcement.
Clemson will find out soon whether it can change that outlook and secure one of the Midwest’s top defensive recruits.
