This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Kansas City Chiefs Executive Vice President and Chief Media & Marketing Officer Lara Krug.
In her interview with Easton Jr., Krug discussed 'Merry Mischief,' an all-new holiday short set to premiere on Christmas Eve, and this year's 'Kingdom Christmas' events and experiences at Arrowhead Stadium, including the 'Mascot Meetup with The Elf on the Shelf and KC Wolf' on gameday.
"When the team was creating how we wanted the story (Merry Mischief) to come to life," said Krug, "We were so inspired by the nostalgia of the best Christmas movies, 'Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer', in some ways, 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'. All of these are really iconic, nostalgic characters that are also very modern."
The 'Merry Mischief' teaser is now live on the Chiefs' YouTube channel, with the full-length short being released at 8 a.m. CST on Wednesday, December 24th. Both the teaser and the full-length short will also be available on the club's social accounts.
The Elf on the Shelf will make live gameday appearances throughout Arrowhead Stadium as part of the Mascot Meetup, creating an opportunity for fans to make lasting Christmas memories with the Elf and KC Wolf. Fans in attendance for the Christmas Day game against the Denver Broncos can meet the Elf on the Shelf during the pregame parade or in the Hall of Honor during the third quarter.
"Yeah, so KC Wolf, our mascot with the Chiefs, will meet up with a life size version of Elf on the Shelf again to bring joy to fans in person," said Krug, "If you've ever come to a Chiefs game or interacted with KC Wolf, you'll you'll find that fans that are nine months old and 99 years old love taking pictures with KC Wolf. So what better way to bring that kind of thing to the two life-size characters together than at our game?"
