This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with Kansas City Chiefs Executive Vice President and Chief Media & Marketing Officer Lara Krug.

In her interview with Easton Jr., Krug discussed 'Merry Mischief,' an all-new holiday short set to premiere on Christmas Eve, and this year's 'Kingdom Christmas' events and experiences at Arrowhead Stadium, including the 'Kingdom Scout Elf Contest.'

"We obviously launched the trailer called 'Merry Mischief,' and we felt like this version of the story, this chapter of that Christmas book, could be really special," said Krug. "We thought, what better way to do it than have a new friend with Elf on the Shelf and Kelce on the Shelfie join us. I don't think there's much more Christmas feeling, especially for kids and families, than the Chiefs and Elf on the Shelf."

The 'Merry Mischief' teaser is now live on the Chiefs' YouTube channel, with the full-length short being released at 8 a.m. CST on Wednesday, December 24th. Both the teaser and the full-length short will also be available on the club's social accounts.

During the 'Kingdom Scout Elf Contest', Chiefs fans with elves showing the most Kingdom Christmas spirit will be entered to win incredible prizes, including a VIP gameday experience, player-signed jerseys, and other awesome Chiefs gear.

"What we wanted to do was find a way to extend the experience to families and Chiefs fans around the world. So this idea is that fans can now submit their ways that they are going to basically create their Elf on the Shelf to become and show up as a Chiefs fan." said Krug, "So we always joke that, I think that what we were saying was Elf on the Shelf as the world's biggest, well, smallest Chiefs fan through fun scenes, clever signs of unexpected hijinks. All the different ways that the parents are creating some fun for their kids through Elf on the Shelf."

"One of the things we were so impressed with about Lumistella, which is the company behind Elf on the Shelf, was that when we got on the phone with them a few months ago, we were the first team to reach out and wanted to do something. We were so impressed with the world they've created, and the concept was that every Elf on the Shelf is part of a family, and so whatever the family is a fan of, the Elf would become a fan of it too. We felt like that was such a perfect mirror of how we see fandom," said Krug. "Fans can now submit entries for the Kingdom Scout Elf Contest with a chance to win all sorts of fun prizes through December to bring joy to those who share how they had fun with their kind of mischievous elves at home."
