it's wild when folks take the tiniest of sample sizes and use it to write opinions in concrete
i think wilson is the clear #1 - i was saying that last year - he and brissett have a real connection - i think wilson has learned to get open right after brissett looks for mcbride - if mcbride isn't open brissett sees wilson with separation
mhj is still figuring things out - period - but that doesn't make a bum - having an off day in preseason doesn't make mhh a bum - but everybody just can't help themselves when they see a 30 second clip on twitter lol
mhj has made some nice catches but they're ignored - wilson's had drops that somehow never make it twitter - they're there but we'll just act like mhj hasn't caught anything because... it feels good?
i haven't seen mhj quit on any routes in camp - have you? he was notorious for it when kyler was behind center but not since brissett's been the guy
i have my knocks on mhj - they are as follows - i think he is (hopefully was) afraid to go over the middle - afraid of the nfl level contact - heard footsteps - that got in his head and then the drops came - some were flat out unjustifiable
so for me it's quitting on routes (pre-brissett) and dropping crucial catches during critical parts of the game - aka choking in the big moment
yeah i said it - he chokes - not just across the middle but whenever he thinks too much
but i'm pretty sure he's going to run every route like he's the #1 this year - like he knows the ball is coming to him - thing is - if we're running 12 personnel lafleur doesn't want the typical #1 and a #2 anyways - he wants two completely different options on the field
all mhj has to do is stay out of his own head this year - yall can put him on bum status but i'm going to wait and watch him play in some actual games with this new offense- call me kool-aid because i couldn't care less about the buffness
if it makes him stronger and more confident than wtf - and i don't care about some viral ass training camp drops with a qb who just showed up this week - attention shoppers - we have a content season clickbait special on aisle 3
here's my hot take - it's not really hot tho - i'd say less documented - marv wasn't healthy during brissett's takeover - this will be marv's first year with a real qb - and he won't be seeing double teams - not with defenses trying to stop mcwilove from going viral
i see mhj as being the obvious frontrunner for most improved on offense - i see a break out year
wilson wants to get paid and showcase himself as top shelf this season - if wilson is able to accomplish his goals it means mhj will be all kinds of open
1,000 yard season incoming - if you call that a disappointment on a team with mcwilove idk what to tell you - i'd call that a fantastic contribution
