The Boston Celtics season came to an end on Saturday when they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in the seventh game of the first round of the playoffs.

Even though things may seem a bit cloudy right now for the Celtics, they still have plenty of positives moving forward, especially with their star, Derrick White.

The Athletic’s Josh Robbins, Sam Amick and Joe Vardon published an NBA player survey on Wednesday, asking players about various topics ranging from the best coach to the most underrated player. According to the responses, many players across the league consider White the most underrated player in the NBA.

A total of 151 votes were cast for the NBA's Most Underrated Player, with White and Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson at the forefront, each receiving 4% of the votes.

"Something that is crystal clear: Players believe the Boston Celtics’ Derrick White still has not received his due respect," Robbins, Amick and Vardon wrote. "He is among the leaders here year in and year out. In 2024, he tied for the win with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Jalen Williams. Last year, he finished second, trailing only the Detroit Pistons’ Cade Cunningham. And now, he’s won again, tying with the Atlanta Hawks’ Jalen Johnson."

White wasn't the only Celtics player to rank high on the list; Jaylen Brown and Payton Pritchard tied for second place, each receiving 3.3% of the vote, along with their former teammate Jrue Holiday.
